8. Develop business contacts. In the brick and mortar world, business card swaps abound. Forums can provide a similar function. They offer the opportunity to develop business contacts without leaving your home.

9. Looking for someone to form a joint venture or some other mutually beneficial business deal. Forums are loaded with people who are open to joint ventures. You just have to get in there, make observations, and post when appropriate.

10. Find a mentor. Many people will assist those with less experience for free. I have seen many posts offering to help newbies.
