"All madmen may not be mystics, but all mystics are mad. By mad, I mean they have gone beyond the mind. The madman may have fallen below the mind, and the mystic may have gone beyond the mind, but one thing is similar. Both are not in their minds." OSHO
Dear ONE,
If you feel as if you’re going slightly insane, welcome to the crazy-making Uranus station of 2018!
Trickster of Awakening Uranus stations retrograde on August 7 at 3° Taurus. When Uranus first moved into earthy Taurus on May 15, the ongoing earthquakes and volcanic eruptions began on the big island of Hawaii. This set up some of the themes that we’ll be experiencing throughout the entire seven-year transit, which will fully commence in March 2019 and last until 2026.
Recently, we’ve had more floods, wild fires and heatwaves all over the planet, seemingly more than ever before and with no let-up in sight. Courtesy of Uranus in Taurus, among other factors, especially global warming, we’re witnessing the opening scenes of our “New Normal” in terms of earth changes. This may trigger more feelings of internal insecurity than we’ve felt challenged by before in this or perhaps any incarnation in quite a while.
As Uranus backs up briefly into Aries for one more pass, 84 years in the making, he will be hitting the master degree of 29° of fiery Aries in November, 2018 and February 2019, where he was during the initial events in Hawaii. So, we can expect more of the same, all over the planet, especially since volatility is the key signature of the last degree of Aries.
In addition, we have the explosive nature of an ongoing Mars/Uranus square in early Aquarius/Taurus which was exact on May 16 and peaking strongly again in the weeks surrounding: June 26 (when Mars stationed RX), July 27 (when there’s a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse conjunct Mars RX and the karmic South Node (which we’re still reeling from), August 1, an exact square, August 7 (when Uranus stations RX), and September 18 (with the final square).
So, there will be almost continuous earth changes arising, among other forms of unpredictable instability. Not to mention that we’re still in the midst of an intense triple Eclipse season, with one last New Moon Eclipse in Leo on August 11. For much more on Uranus in Taurus:

This multitude of crazy-making energies, including the ongoing Quickening, which is the acceleration of frequencies that we’re all starting to vibrate at, is causing many of us symptoms of instability on ALL levels. In fact, as the Quickening Phase II continues to dissolve the veils between dimensions of consciousness, we may be experiencing increasingly intense symptoms of what I now call the galactic flu (formerly known as the psychic flu). I know I’ve been more challenged than ever before in this regard.
For much more on this, I encourage you to read:
The Quickening Phase II Is Here to Rock Your World
All of this “divine orderly chaos” on the world stage is, in truth, a spiritually opening in disguise, or what I call an FGO (f*ckin growth opportunity :)). Why? Because there has always been a very thin line between madness and mysticism, or spiritual madness, if you will, but especially so these days.
My definition of being a mystic is one who experiences unity consciousness as the true nature of reality. In other words, seeing the Divine, Source or the Tao in everything and everyone with no separation or boundaries: One Being, billions of faces.
I’ve had more and more clients coming to me who just want to “check out” and “get medicated” so that they don’t have to feel their anxiety, depression or, what I call, “metaphysical angst” as it has become emotionally intolerable to live with.
What I share with them is that, in addition to daily mind/body and spiritual practices, there are many nutritional supplements and herbal remedies to help calm our nervous systems, provide more restful sleep, and balance out our brain chemistry in just the way that pharmaceutical drugs do, but without all the unpleasant accumulative side-effects.
But, and here’s a big but, one needs to be willing to go through this extreme emotional and mental roller coaster ride with: A sense of inner Being as our true identity, as well as maintaining the witness perspective to work with our thoughts and emotions mindfully and cultivating a taste for our inner journey as a spiritual adventure. In other words, the only way out is through.
The alternative is medicating ourselves with pharmaceutical or recreational drugs or alcohol, which only buffer, repress and anesthetize our seemingly unendurable emotions. And while there is certainly no judgement if this course is chosen as it may give us a much-needed reprieve or break, it’s also important to acknowledge that putting a blanket over the underlying root causes and numbing ourselves to painful feelings of hopeless despair can only be, in the end, a delaying tactic. Not to mention that the inevitable withdrawal symptoms from drugs can be extremely uncomfortable, to say the least.
Sooner or later, we’ll need to unwind habitual mental and emotional samskaras (karmic grooves), instead of continuing to wind them deeper. But we always have free will as to the timing. We can choose to go through the pain now . . . or later; in this incarnation or a future one. And, while it may be human nature to always choose “the lesser pain,” the high road spiritually is to go for the clean sharp growing pain as, otherwise, low-grade chronic suffering ensues, sometimes for decades or lifetimes.
If the above resonates with you and you’d like some psychic guidance on how to work with the present crazy-making energies in a way that supports karmic healing and soul growth and addresses all levels of your symptoms—physical, energetic, emotional, mental and karmic—with solutions, rather than just postponing the inevitable with consciousness-numbing drugs, please contact me for a PSYCHIC HEALTH READING. Another recurring theme I’ve been hearing from clients since forever is about all the emotional pain and suffering they’re feeling because they’re not getting what they think they need to be happy—from people, places or things—in the way they want and in the timeframe they most fervently desire, which is usually: NOW.
Because of all the crazy-making planetary energies this season, with all outer planets retrograde right now (in addition to communications director Mercury RX until August 18 and action-oriented Mars RX until August 27), I’ve decided to share with you how I work and play these days and have transformed my madness into mysticism.
When I was age twenty-nine in 1982, and just after I gave up using all mood-altering substances to buffer my experience of reality, I chose to make peace of mind my primary goal. This meant that I would make all decisions based on what would bring me more equanimity and less distractions to feed my monkey mind. Since then, maintaining this choice has increasingly allowed me to enjoy the here and now—instead of clinging to what is not yet to be—or is no more.
In my experience, two of the root causes of our anxiety and agitation are: that a loved one is not capable of reciprocating the way we would like, or that money is not flowing in abundantly enough. And furthermore, that our attachment to the drama of all this deprivation is a self-sabotage to keep us distracted from the Void, i.e., inner emptiness. This inner Void is what is truly terrifying for most of us unless we’re willing to face it—and make friends with it—as the true nature of absolute reality and our Self.
It’s impossible to be in paradise all the time unless we’re comfortable sitting in emptiness, i. e., the Void, as this is the primordial space out of which all forms (including all planes of consciousness) continuously arise and fall away.
There are infinite levels of heaven—or hell—all available to be experienced within our own beings in each moment—and we always get to choose. So, for all your adrenaline junkies or “sick excitement” addicts out there (you know who you are)—you can choose to bottom out on this pattern of distraction now . . . or later.
I’ve found that expanding my consciousness through going within is just as intense and much more sustainably blissful—than seeing how many “plates” I can spin—but in an empowering super-charged life-force enhancing way. For more on this:
The Nature of Addiction: It’s Only Human
In all the great Eastern spiritual traditions—from Tantra and Vedanta, to Taoism and Dzogchen—there are a multitude of meditation practices for working with dissatisfaction and uncomfortable feelings around the chaos of life in an ephemeral plane, as well as on the themes of death and dying, emptiness, formlessness, inner space and the Void—but in modern Western religions—not so much.
In the mass consciousness of the West there’s so much fear around aging, dying and death, (leading to the inner Void, of course) that it manifests as resistance to discussing the topic, even within our closest bonds, as well as a dread of dwelling on this theme, even in our most private thoughts. Not only has this avoidance created a deep schism in the mass tone—between anxiety bordering on hysteria, manifesting as an obsession with youth, on one side, and faith and trust in our eternal nature, on the other—but it’s missing the whole point of what living in this ephemeral plane of duality is really all about. And that includes accepting the reality that there are always "mosquitoes" in paradise as well.
Physicists’ and astronomers’ research has finally caught up with the innate wisdom of ancient seers: There’s a black hole, or Void, at the Galactic Center of our Universe out of which all forms of life have emerged, from the planets to us—and into which all forms will eventually return.
But since all time is, in actuality, going on simultaneously—emptiness and form are timelessly arising out of each other in a beginningless and endless infinite loop. Our job is to ultimately learn how to play the Earth Game from a place of emptiness and form concurrently.
Or as Ram Dass so eloquently says:
“If we come back into form from having merged with God, what the Buddhist call nirvana, we are in the world but not of it. We play the cosmic sport. We fill the forms though there is no one home, it is just more Leela, the dance of God.”
For more on this, please read: LEELA
Here are some quotes from a few of my favorite spiritual paths which corroborate this view:
Dzogchen: “Emptiness is the essence of being. It is this emptiness which allows us to manifest. Emptiness is the most salient quality of what we are—it is the ground of being. Energetic being arises from this emptiness as the play of energy, and material being arises from this energy as the play of form." Ngakâchang Rinpoche
Taoism: “The Tao is like the eternal Void: filled with infinite possibilities. Empty yet inexhaustible, it gives birth to infinite worlds.” Lao Tzu
Vedanta: “Emptiness is not really empty. Emptiness is full of everything. The ‘everything’ just isn’t manifest.” Ram Dass
Physicists say that the Universe is made up of energy that is never lost, it just keeps changing form. But Tantrikas take it a step further and say:
“All energy is conscious. Consciousness permeates everything—from a grain of sand to every cell in our bodies—from inner space to outer space to the infinite Void.”
And from the Vedic tradition:
Pleasure or pain
Loss or gain
Praise or blame
All the same
Here are some suggestions as to how to integrate this view into our personal realities, which will help set the tone for the mass consciousness:
I. Cultivating awareness that, as microcosms of the Universe, we contain within us an inner Void that’s infinite and thus can only be truly filled by that which is also infinite: Source, the Divine, the Tao, or the Flow of Life.
II. Imagining that, from the perspective of the Void, everything that arises in the 3rd dimension of form can be viewed without judgment as a manifestation of pure co-creative aliveness—in other words, Leela, Divine Play.
III. Maintaining an ever-present mindfulness of death and dying as an integral part of life makes each ephemeral moment that much more precious and poignant.
IV. Owning our true nature as multidimensional Beings having a human experience and remembering that the Void is the foundation out of which all dimensions continuously arise.
III. Embracing aging gracefully. To the degree that we choose to integrate the above suggestions as part of our spiritual practice===to this degree will we discover how effortlessly enjoyable every leg of our journey can be.

Here are a few of my favorite meditations to contemplate that always put a smile on my face:
From the Vigyana Bhairava Tantra:
1. “Focus on fire rising through your form from the toes up until the body burns to ashes . . . but not You.”
2. “Before desire and before knowing, how can I say I am? Consider. Dissolve in the beauty.”
And from my favorite Dzogchen teacher, Ngakâchang Rinpoche:
3. “If you are fully present in the moment with the object of your desire—it is yours forever.”

In closing, as we savor the delicious wisdom that comes from living from the timeless perspective of the Witness, we can allow our Beings to emanate the tone that “All is Well” at each stage in our journey, permeating our personal reality with an ever-expanding peaceful influence.
Going forward, as we embrace the thin line between madness and mysticism, form and emptiness, and stability and chaos, we may feel as if we’re learning how to dance and stay balanced on a rope bridge over a bottomless abyss as thin as a razor’s edge dipped in honey.
Wishing us all the joy in Being that comes from feeling balanced at the midpoint in an infinite loop outside of linear space and time,

“The failure and success of plans simply gives us an opportunity to experience failure and success as the ornaments of equanimity.” Ngakâchang Rinpoche
