Do you ever listen to your inner voice? Amazingly, that inner voice can guide us to a richer, more fulfilling, and more successful life. How, you ask? Really it’s quite simple – we just have to take the time to listen to this voice. Sounds easy enough, doesn’t it? But in reality, our thoughts often limit us from succeeding. It seems that, for many of us, our inner voice is somewhat negative, feeding us thoughts such as “you can’t do this”, “you’re not smart enough”, or “this will never work”. Our minds are programmed to believe exactly what we tell it to. So, if we give our brains negative information, that is all it has to process and will act accordingly. It’s as simple as that. On the flipside, if we fill our brains with positive affirmations, there is no alternative but to succeed. But how do we turn our limiting thoughts into positive affirmations? That’s simple too!

If you have negative thoughts that are limiting you, simply turn those into positive affirmations. Thoughts such as “I’m not good enough” can be changed to “I give 100 percent to everything I do”. Change “I can’t do it” to “I am capable and competent”. As you continue to tell yourself these things, you will start to believe it and your inner voice will be giving you positive messages. Write your positive affirmation down on a piece of paper and read it frequently, at least every morning and every night. Say it to yourself over and over again. Release the limiting belief, replace it with your positive affirmation, and see what happens!

To write your own affirmation, determine what you want to work on. This could be any area of your life from relationships to finances to work to health. Then decide what you want to happen. With those two pieces of information, develop a concise statement to express your desired outcome. Be sure to state your desire positively, in first person, and present tense. For example, if you would like to work on losing weight and implementing a healthier lifestyle, you might say “I make positive healthy choices for myself” or “I choose to exercise regularly”. To find love, you might say “I release any desperation and allow love to find me” or “I deserve love and accept it now”. Find the words that feel right to you and that you are comfortable saying to yourself. Repeat your affirmation frequently and consistently while releasing the outcome to the universe.

Remember that it is important to be quiet and listen to your inner voice. Eliminating distractions will help you hear your inner voice more clearly. It takes focus, attention, commitment and faith to see the results of your affirmation. Be patient and trust that it is working. Over time, you will see the results. Keep in mind that you get what you focus on, so make it good!
