This is a very brief overview of those laws.
Working with the Law
The process entails some effort. You cannot get the most out of the lessons by just listening to or reading them once or twice. They should be listened to and read often.
1. The Law of Thinking
Attention should be given to the predominant mental state. As said in the Bible, “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.” That is really the foundation of a person's life. It's the first step to freedom. You might say “Well, everyone thinks,” and the truth is they really don't. Mental activity does not constitute thinking. Authentic thinking comes from the depths of our own creativity. It is not just based on our five senses but comes from our soul, or spiritual being. There’s something within us that wants us to move to a higher level as a natural expression of expansion. To move to a higher level, it's essential that we think.
2. The Law of Supply
“Ask and it shall be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock and it shall be opened unto you.” This law is essentially stating where there is a need, the supply is provided. “What things soever you desire, when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you shall have them.”
We want to try and grasp the concept that there's an infinite source of supply; that everything we'll ever want is here, if not in one form than in another.
3. The Law of Attraction
What we focus on is what we draw to us. Paying special attention, or taking a focused interest in something is the first step. Focusing with intent on what we want, rather than what we don’t want is the key to this law.
4. The Law of Receiving
“Give and it shall be given unto you.” When living with a mistaken belief in lack we tend to focus on getting. In our lack of understanding, we continue to leave the “getting” idea foremost in our thought and we shut out the spirit of giving. This law states in giving we receive. Giving, which is the first or fundamental law of life, is the first law of all creation. We should willingly give and graciously receive.
5. The Law of Increase
This law could be called the Law of Praise, because whatever we praise grows. It could also be called the Law of Gratitude. Praise is good for other persons and things but it is our salvation too. Praise and gratitude changes our observation, our whole outlook of life. Rather than focusing on our weaknesses and failings we now see differently. It enriches us with joy, courage, and happiness to ourselves and all who are affected by our influence. Whatever we focus on grows or increases and in seeing what is good it increases.
6. The Law of Compensation
This law is that how we are compensated comes to us is in direct ratio to the need for what we do, our ability to do it and the difficulty there is in replacing us. Holding an image of ourselves based on the truth of who we are as spiritual beings guarantees that we will do what needs to be done, have the ability to do it and of course be irreplaceable. So, you have to ask yourself: do you want to move out of where you are to the place where you rightfully belong? Your right place is where you can live life fully. Abundance does not need to be made, it always is. But we must change our thinking to include a larger image of ourselves.
7. The Law of Non-Resistance
This law is about reacting rather than responding. If we go through life fighting, opposing, resisting, arguing, we are bound to meet with many obstacles. We are likely to become so occupied fighting that we lose sight of our real objective. If we learn to make little of the obstacle and keep our mind on the objective we will reach or goal.
8. The Law of Forgiveness
According to A Course in Miracles, forgiveness is a shift in perception that removes a block in me, to my awareness of love's presence. Carrying resentments and guilt erects a wall between us, God, others and our good.
9. The Law of Sacrifice
“The beginning of wisdom is not imposed by discipline, but the beginning of wisdom is first the desire for discipline, the love of discipline, the voluntary choice of discipline.” Sacrifice, or discipline, is not losing something but gaining something. We give up something of a lesser nature to receive something better. The discipline that is most needed is the discipline of our thinking. Discipline is giving ourselves a command and following it.
10. The Law of Obedience
According to these spiritual laws, we live within a system that operates in a very exact way. It's easy to understand that if a person hasn't done a respectable amount of studying, they would never understand the laws. And yet, when a person does gain an understanding of the law, they have such tremendous respect for it that they are naturally obedient to it. This law is about being obedient to the rest of the laws if we are going to reap the benefits the Universe has for us. If you plant a turnip seed, nature doesn't produce potatoes. If you plant corn nature doesn't make a mistake and bring you a big giant oak tree. With the same reasoning, if we plant thoughts of worry we are not obeying the Law of Obedience and will not get the desired results.
11. The Law of Success
He can who thinks he can. God intended every individual to succeed. It is God's purpose that we should reach greatness. It is God's will that we should not only use, but enjoy every good in the universe. It is the law's intention, life's intention, that you and I should move forward. In the end we each will be compelled to move forward, especially in the direction of our own soul's growth.
