“A consistent soul believes in destiny, a capricious one in chance.” ~ Benjamin Disraeli
“In essence, if we want to direct our lives, we must take control of our consistent actions. It's not what we do once in a while that shapes our lives, but what we do consistently.” ~ Anthony Robbins
Being consistent is critical to on going and long-term success. It is easy to be a one-hit wonder; but manifesting prosperity means being consistent.
The word “consistent” means “harmonious uniformity or agreement among things or parts” meaning the same throughout in structure or composition. Therefore, not doing something once one way and another way the next, or being haphazard about the regularity of doing something – but doing something in a systematic way on a regular basis.
If it is long-term success you want, then doing something once won’t help achieve it. Think about health and fitness. If you want to either lose weight or tone your body, you don’t just go to the gym once or do a workout routine one time and expect to have the body of your dreams. You have to make a habit of going to the gym or doing the workout to achieve your desired intention.
Think about this: It took consistent action to get you into the routine or rut you are in today. Where you are today – be it weight, body image, finances, or relationships – was not an overnight occurrence. It took consistent action of doing the things that ended up not serving you in the long run. The old adage, “Practice makes perfect” is a half truth if you are practicing the wrong thing; then practice only makes permanent. That is why Jiddu Krishnamurti said, “a consistent thinker is a thoughtless person, because he conforms to a pattern; he repeats phrases and thinks in a groove.” This is true if what you are consistently doing is not serving you and will never create the life your truly desire.
Granted it won’t take you years of consistent action to turn things around like it did to create your present routine or rut; you did that more or less unconsciously. But if you are consciously applying your manifesting acumen to now create what you do want, it will show up for you in much less time.
Being consistent also means maintaining a level of focus and concentration on what you do want instead of focusing on what you don’t want. Again, this is living unconsciously. It is extremely important to be consciously aware of what you consistently focus your attention on: what you consistently talk about – to others, to yourself, and to the God of your understanding – and what you let in from the media. All this had a tremendous impact on manifesting prosperity. The Law of Vibration and Attraction states you will draw to you things with the same resonating energy.
It is time to start living life more consciously and be more consistent with the actions it will take to create an abundant life and truly manifest prosperity.
