Most people have learned to be verbally self-abusive even in subtle ways. They start their morning with comments to themselves that would make children cry. Yet, every morning they look in the mirror and unconsciously say things to themselves such as, “Wow, you look like crap.” or “You have out grown these clothes you are getting so fat.” or “Look at how fast I am aging.” Or “My life sucks, I am such a loser.” Even making statements such as, “I wish I looked like that, I wish I was smarter, I wish I had more money.”
Making these statements to yourself is so unconscious it has become habitually unconscious in our society as well. It has become okay to make these statements on sitcoms, commercials, talk radio and movies that you watch. When you see this kind of verbal self-abuse everywhere around you, you can think it is okay to speak to yourself like that. You can think that you are normal or like everyone else when you make these statements to yourself.
If you live this type of nightmarish thought habit, then you can even get validation from your friends that talking to yourself in this manner is funny or even truthful but the truth is this type of behavior is so harmful to your body and life. It is not just your success you are sabotaging but also the quality of relationships that you are drawing to you, how your level of confidence and self-esteem operates along with how your attitude and body feel.
You begin to create dis-ease in your body by making these harmful self-sabotaging statements to yourself everyday. You create dis-ease in your spirit and self-esteem and you slowly chip away at your possibilities and limit your life by allowing yourself to continue thinking in this manner.
In the science of results oriented thinking we examine how thoughts work and what they do to us first. We look at how a thought forms a chemical reaction in your body. This chemical reaction can either impair you or empower you. This chemical reaction produced by your thinking can poison you or give you super human strength in a moment.
There are documented cases in human history of how a miracle happened with seemingly impossible odds of it happening, both medical miracle and human strength miracles. This means we can learn to think miraculously and draw miracles to us too. Why or how our society has learned to think in limited negative think habits is beyond me. How it became the norm is also a mystery. Yet, in this moment, you need to cut yourself some slack.
Learn to be verbally uplifting and gentle with yourself. In the science of results oriented thinking when we become aware of how we are poisoning ourselves with our habits we learn that we are not our habits and that we are not the negative thought that we are experiencing in the moment. We understand that it is just something that we are telling ourselves it is not who we are.
In the science of results oriented thinking we understand that thinking is a tool not who we are. We are not the depression we are feeling. We are not the anger or fear in our lives. In this science we understand that thinking produces results and what we tell ourselves we experience.
So on the other side in the science of results oriented thinking, we are not the joy we are experiencing of the self-esteem we feel or the miracle that is happening to us. The question you need to ask yourself is of the two experiences which one would you like to have in your life.
In the science of results oriented thinking we utilized our self-command and begin to retrain our brain to think differently and provide us with a more empowering thought habit. When you learn self-command you do not just let any thought inhabit your brain. You practice having thoughts that support you and lift your spirit up. You speak kindly to yourself and express gentleness when talking to yourself.
This creates a peaceful miraculous life. It is simply moving your focus and thoughts to what you do want to feel and experience. This is so important because you and I have heard that man becomes what he thinks about most. In the science of results oriented thinking we learn that you create your life by your thoughts, feelings, and actions. What are you creating?
