Self awareness is truly the cornerstone of emotional intelligence. It underlies all the other aspects of self motivation and emotional intelligence.
Self awareness is about knowing one’s own emotions. It's about understanding your thinking patterns and knowing what thinking pattern you use in certain events.
It's also an understanding of your strengths and weaknesses. To know what motivates you and what you want out of life.
Lastly, it is an awareness of how you impact other people.
The following questions will help you to become more aware…more conscious of these things.
How To Use These Self Awareness Questions
There are two ways to use these questions. I recommend both.
Personally, I prefer to do it in the morning. Get up half an hour earlier to spend some time on your self awareness questions.
Don’t rush through the questions. Take four or five per day. Don’t answer them all at once. If you only get through one a day, it’s also fine. Remember self awareness is a habit. We have certain default thinking patterns and if thinking what we are thinking about is not a habit, we need to practice to make it a daily habit.
Wright down your answers in a journal. Think of significant situations that relate to each question. Reflect on them before you answer.
This can be quite valuable, because it will help you to become aware of any blind spots.
The Questions...
Well, there you have it. Feel free to add some more. Remember to take your time. Ask others and write your thoughts down. If you are looking for similar emotional intelligence tools, you can find it here.
