I confess -- I am bizarre! I look for places where I can feel that love is in the air. Sometimes I go to the airport arrival gate just to bask and be in the presence of love. Looking at people’s eyes in expectation of their loved one returning from a trip, their heart racing, searching through the crowd for the beloved; love is boiling like water in a kettle and at the instant of recognition the whistle sounds and love simply explodes. Some run to each other for love can no longer wait, it has no age, no sex, and it is not only for lovers. It flows from father to daughter; from cousin to aunt, friend to friend, grandma to child, and husband to wife—pure unaffected love. The waterfall of kisses cascading on lips, cheeks, heads, and hands; sturdy solid hugs taking the breath away, the joy spilling onto the floor and splashing into the ceiling, the penetrating looks of these ineffable moments. Love is in the air and I breathe deeply and let it in.
Another favorite place of mine is the park or the beach where lovers come together and rekindle their child-like innocence. They play, roll around the grass or in the sand, laugh, kiss, or simply rest and bask in the sun on their lover’s bosom. Discreetly I watch them, not wanting to disturb the moment. I simply feel that love is in the air and breathe it in. Yet, the most magical place to date is the delivery room. Yes, the love that rushes headlong out of mom’s and dad’s heart at the site of the little one is the most pure, the most divine love I witness. At childbirth parents discover yet another realm of uncharted love in their hearts. A state that is purely divine, a place when you know you are willing to give up your life for the loved one without a doubt, or a second thought. Love is in the air I whisper to the nurses and doctor and then I breathe in deeply.
Today’s Affirmation: Today I will breathe in love, and breathe out worry.
