When you look at things Differently

Just thinking about that statement could confuse just about anyone. But it is a universal law that many of us never learn. Like the law of gravity or flotation, it is law that has been discovered through the study of science. Quantum physics to be exact. But how does this apply to my business?

Let me begin by saying that universal laws affect every part of our lives. From how a plane flies, to how a boat floats – all of these things affect how we conduct ourselves and order our affairs. These are simple laws of physics. The development of technology has now enabled physicists and scientists to see more and develop more theories about what makes our world work the way it does. And they have developed a whole new set of theories and studies, calling it Quantum Physics. They can now see farther into space and using the same tools in reverse see deeper and deeper into cells, atoms, all of the piece parts that make us who we are. In the past 15 years, the study of quantum physics has changed how scientists view the world.

We all know that we are made up of atoms, which when broken down are divided into electrons, protons and neutrons, and other micro bits of this and that. What astounded me however was that these particles are spinning around and moving about inside of the atom at incredible speeds – and that as soon as the observer tries to pinpoint the location of a particle- it changes the properties of the particle. Just by looking at the particle and trying to describe its position – we change the particle. That is incredible! You can change a particle simply by looking at it, and trying to describe its position.

Now consider your business. If you can change a particle just by looking at it a certain way, is it possible to change your business, by looking at it differently? Absolutely! In fact, we affect everything around us just by how we view it. The energy that we send out about anything can affect it adversely or can change it for the better. That is how powerful our thoughts can be.

How are you looking at your business? Is it just that little something that you do? Is it a business that you just cannot see yourself making BIG money at? How are you affecting your business success? Let me tell you a story about that might put this in perspective.

Despite what many people saw my business as, I was stuck in a rut trying to figure out how I was going to grow it. In fact I had come to a place where I felt I was doing all I could do, and could do no more. Then one morning I received a telephone call from someone telling me what a huge difference that my company had made in so many lives, and she began to give me examples. Within a matter or one morning I began to view my business differently. And almost immediately, my business began to change. When I began to see it as much bigger than it was and stopped making decisions that limited its growth, it began to change. My vision began to get bigger, and by looking at it differently, all the little piece parts began to change their appearance, their function and began to expand.

How did this all happen. Originally, the way I looked at the businesses ability to grow, was limiting the growth of the business. Because I had decided that I could not see it any bigger, it stayed in the same place as I saw it. But as soon as I saw its growth and ability to grow as infinite, things began to fall into place that made immediate expansion possible. It is not magic, it is a simple universal law that applies to everything. When you look at something a certain way you are determining what it is by your thought and understanding. But when you look at things differently, the things you look at change.

So how can you apply this to your business?

Write down the preconceived ideas that you have been told or believe about:
-Your abilities
-The function of your business
-The ability to grow
-The availability of customers
- Business cash flow

Looking at theses things, can you see how you can limit your success, your ability to make money, find new customers or develop your business, perhaps taking it to the next level? Now, close your eyes. Think about some fantastic possibilities and begin to ask “what if?” Let your imagination run away with you …. What if every customer I had told two people to buy my product? What if I had several employees, what more could we do? Then open your eyes and begin crossing out all those preconceived ideas that you had.

What you think about expands. Where you take your thoughts will determine what you experience in your life. You business will grow and expand if you begin to imagine, think about, dream about and open your mind to all the possibilities that exist. You are today exactly where and what your mind has decided. You are where and what you think. When you look at things differently - the things you look at change.
