This pill has been proven to be almost 100% effective in preventing pregnancy. Just like other combination contraceptive pills, Ovranette also prevents pregnancy in three different ways. It is a monophasic pill, which means that you take the same dosage of oestrogen and progestogen throughout. You are required to take this pill for 21 days of your 28 day menstrual cycle. You are then to take a break of seven days before starting a new pack.

Another, one of the most commonly used combination contraceptive pill is Loestrin. This pill is available in two different dosage strengths of 20mg and 30mg. It is commonly referred to as Loestrin 20 or Loestrin 30. The Loestrin pill consists, ethinylestradiol, synthetic oestrogen and Norethisterone, synthetic progestogen, as its active ingredients. This pill has been proven to be almost 100% effective in preventing unplanned pregnancy in women. Both Loestrin pills, Loestrin 20 and Loestrin 30 are equally effective, the only difference being in the dosage strengths of its active ingredients.
