Leadership entails knowing how to bring out the best out of individual members of the team by working on their values, strengths and attributes. A good leader is able to set a good example to be emulated by having good behavior and having a set of values and a display of convictions that the team is able to identify with. The good leader is confident, and is able to guide the team to achieve the vision and mission of the group.
A good leader knows how to motivate the team by having a way of rewarding good results as well as reprimanding in a way that will bring a positive change. The team working under a good leader is well focused and able to adapt to and implement any changes coming in. They are innovative people as the leadership provides room for positive contribution from the team members as appreciation and acknowledgment is the norm. The leader welcomes and makes a great deal out of any feedback whether positive or otherwise form the team. Under a good leader, the team will feel proud to belong and will have a positive attitude towards any given tasks since they have a conducive atmosphere.
A good leader is willing to improve his/her act and one way they can achieve that is through training. A person who feels that they do not have leadership skills can acquire them through training.
