Bursitis Trochanterica usually refers to the inflammation of the bursae in the hip joint. Bursitis is the condition when the outer lining of the bursae (also called synovial membrane) that facilitates joint movements get inflamed. Inflammation of the trochanteric bursa ( the greater trochanter) is called Bursitis trochanterica. There are a number of factors that can lead to Bursitis trochanterica. The condition usually occurs in women. Trauma and stress injury remains on the top of the list that causes Bursitis trochanterica.
