When there’s a lot of trouble in one’s life, eg. lost a job, family member passed away, there’s an ongoing conflict with someone you love dearly, we usually rush to God and sincerely pray to him with feelings of total surrender. So, do these prayers help get over our problems?
Yes, a sincere prayer is always heard!
Prayer is a special form of request made to God. And when it is done with a true and a pure heart with feelings of surrender, “Dear God! I surrender my problems into your Lotus feet; please help me get over my troubles with total peace, patience and equanimity”; such prayers definitely help people get over troubles.
How?
A prayer from a true heart (sincere prayer) will bring up the circumstances to fulfil it.
-- Quote from Param Pujya Dada Bhagwan
When we pray to God, our prayer is a positive evidence which contributes favourably in the process of bringing together the circumstances required to help get over our problem.
Effects of Prayers are seen via the Unfolding of Karmas
Any trouble that we face in life is due to our past karma. There are three types of karma that unfold: understand the unfolding of the karmas.
Few karma are relatively light or mild, such can be easily washed away by the prayers. Some stronger bondages of karma require our spiritual efforts to get over them. And some karma are so sticky that they do not get washed; no matter how much effort you put, you will have to experience the suffering of that karma. However, you can continue to do sincere prayers here. The karma will have to be suffered, but due to the prayers, you will gain peace and stability to pass through the difficult phase.
There are different ways to do the prayers. For instance, if you are going through lot of stress and restlessness, listening to devotional songs (Bhajans) or singing them aloud, also is a form of prayer, which will help calm you down. And prayer, when done silently, is one of the most effective ones!
Blessings come from the Soul within us, which help solve our problems.
Indirect worship means to worship an external object in which we have faith; but any perceived blessings actually come from the Soul within us. Direct worship is to worship the Pure Soul within oneself.
-- Quote from Param Pujya Dada Bhagwan
You can always pray to God whom you have faith in. However, that’s an indirect worship, says Param Pujya Dada Bhagwan.
The direct worship is when we pray with all our heart, directly to the Pure Soul residing within. We get protection, strength and also a way to get over our troubles then. Such is the infinite power of the Pure Soul! Even in indirect worship, it is this power only that is working!
The infinite power of the Pure Soul is unleashed when we attain Self-Realization.
In reality, we all are a Pure Soul. We think, “I am Sheetal (place your name here).” But are we really Sheetal? Sheetal will pass away in few years as she is mortal, but we (the Pure Soul) remain! Our permanent identity is, “I am a Pure Soul.” Pure Soul is immortal; it has infinite knowledge, infinite vision, infinite power and permanent happiness.
If you want to be Self-Realized, you can do it easily through Akram Vignan. You just have to go to Gnani, the Enlightened One, who gets your Soul enlightened.
For more details on Self-Realization, you can also read the book, named, “Simple and Effective Science for Self Realization.” The book has 78 pages and is available free online! Hope you enjoy reading the book and can get Self-Realized soon.

Ambalal M. Patel was a civil contractor by profession. In June 1958, spontaneous Self-Realization occurred within Ambalal M. Patel. From this point on, Ambalal became a Gnani Purush, and the Lord that manifest within him became known as Dada Bhagwan. A Gnani Purush is One who has realized the Self and is able help others do the same. Param Pujya Dada Bhagwan used to go from town to town and country-to-country to give satsang (spiritual discourse) and impart the knowledge of the Self, as well as knowledge of harmonious worldly interactions to everyone who came to meet him. This spiritual science, known as Akram Vignan, is the step-less path to Self-realization.
