The sealant is manufactured to the highest strength standards in the USA. However, depending on traffic or the amount of sun exposure, the sealant can wear away, causing a decrease in the aesthetic appearance of the floor.
It may be that the floor over time accumulates dirt and dirt that it retains due to the previous wear of the sealant. For this reason, the floor is pressure washed to remove any difficult stains such as oil or tire marks, and then we apply a reseal to revive its original beauty.
Steps to install and stamp concrete
Pour the concrete slab
After compacting the land, the formwork is placed and the levels are moved. Follow traditional procedures like strength and thickness. Even out the concrete surface with the help of a float or trowel so that it is smooth.
Using accelerators for setting concrete is not recommended as it may not allow time to complete the stamped concrete procedure.
Note: Some additives can affect the color
Hardener color
Allow the concrete to sweat. Once the water has disappeared from the surface and the concrete is in a plastic state, apply the first coat of hardener by hand. Two coats are required to achieve uniform coloring, although some light colors may require up to a third coat. Using a steel trowel, blend the color into the surface. It should cover the entire surface and obtain a uniform coloring.
Release agent
Apply the release agent manually on the concrete slab, spraying it and covering the hardener color. Make sure to evenly cover the surface.
Before applying it, it is recommended to open the release agent bag and stir it by hand so that it comes into contact with the air. Remember to protect adjacent areas such as pools, fountains, etc.
Mold for stamped concrete
Wait for the concrete to be ready to stamp, this is when you can get on without sinking but leaving the mark well marked.
The molds are always placed in a horizontal position, trying to keep them as close together as possible to avoid a double scratch on the finish.
When the concrete is harder, the tamper should be used, always stepping on the mold to be struck so that it does not move when hitting it.
Wash stamped concrete
After at least 24 hours of stamping, the concrete will be dry swept, then the concrete is pressure washed to remove excess release agent. It is normal that after washing there is a release agent in the nozzles and deep parts of the mold, this helps us to give a double tone effect to the final color.
Sealant
The sealer will be applied after 3 days when the concrete is completely free of moisture. For its application, you can use a roller, brush, or sprinkler.
