THE HANDMAIDEN (2016)
The Handmaiden
Mademoiselle AKA The Handmaiden is an erotic thriller made by Korean director Park Chan-wook in 2016. Many of you would be familiar with Park Chan-wook from his award-winning 2003 film Oldboy. The Handmaiden can be summed up as an erotic thriller that is set during the Japanese occupation of Korea in the early 1900s. The movie starts with the con man approaching a Korean woman with a heritage of stealing to play as a handmaiden for a young Japanese lady.
The thriller follows the duo trying to con the young Japanese lady and defraud her out of her inheritance. The movie is divided into chapters each dedicated to depicting the past of the characters in the trademark Park Chan-wook style. Here Park Chan-wook is trying to best his work in OLDBOY and archives that in many ways. The film captures the innocence and beauty of the characters secluded in an estate in 1900.
Personally, the movie doesn’t overtake the 2003 film Oldboy in terms of intensity and action but still stands on its right next to his greatest work.

EIGHTH GRADE (2018)
Eighth Grade (2018)
Eighth Grade is the coming of age story of a teenage girl written and directed by Bo Burnham. The famous comedian turned director though sings original parody songs in his comedy routine doesn't bring the musical aspect to his directorial debut. Eighth Grade, Just like the name follows the life of Kayla portrayed by the wonderful Elsie Fisher through her awkward teenage years.
The film portrays the life of a teenager in a world where everyone is connected through social media. The movie gives an honest and genuine image of the mind of a teenager shaped by the internet and expectations of family. With each generation thinking that the newer generation has an easy life to lead, the movie points to new challenges that the newer generation faces through their anxiety, awkwardness, and cringe filled youtube videos.
The movies are the best resemblance to the life of a teenager in modern times.

BOONDOCK SAINTS (2000)
Boondock Saints (2000)
Boondock Saints is the stylized action film released in 2000 which follows two brothers on a mission against the mob. The movie is cult classic and widely regarded as the JOHN WICK of the past generation. The story follows two brothers from Boston on a divine mission to kill everyone to eliminate the Russian mob. The two brothers/Catholic men are doing God's will by eradicating evil from Boston in an action-packed thriller.
The MacManus brothers portrayed by Sean Patrick Flanery and Norman Reedus together set out on a collision path with an FBI agent played by Willem Dafoe who is not all that he seems. Norman Reedus before he was a household name came into the limelight through this film. Though the movie has a widely different opinion between critics and fans nonetheless it is isn't boring.
The movie is a fun time and worth watching if you are in the mood for some action or just waiting for the next JOHN WICK movie.

Murderball is the 2005 documentary directed by Henry Alex Rubin and Dana Adam Shapiro. The film is centered on physically disabled athletes who play wheelchair rugby. The film covers the brotherhood and rivalry of the US and the CANADIAN teams before their clash in the 2004 Paralympic games.
The films realize the life and dreams of these athletes trying to overcome their physical barriers. The movie was nominated in the 78th Academy awards for BEST DOCUMENTARY FEATURE.
The low budget film captures the raw sense of competitiveness of the quadriplegic athletes who play the full-contact rugby in wheelchairs. The film is a must-watch sports movie and in many ways better than any Hollywood recreation of the past inspirational sport success stories.
