Most parents make the mistake of teaching kids only about respecting elders. This is not the way to go because everyone deserves respect, no matter what their social standing or age. Another important value that you need to instill in your children from a young age is honesty. As we have all been taught, honesty is the best policy and your child should be encouraged to tell the truth no matter what mistakes they may have committed.

You need to teach your child that hurting someone is not just a physical issue; when they hurt someone, it can have emotional and psychological effects as well. Don’t forget to teach your child how to apologize and always encourage them to own up to their mistakes and immediately apologize if they hurt someone, verbally or physically.
- Theft
One of the best values any parent can teach their children is that theft is wrong regardless of the justification behind it. You need to teach your child that theft is wrong, not just legally, but also morally because it means that they will take something that belongs to someone else.
