Staff Selection Commission has postponed the SSC CGL 2020 examination. The examination would get conducted through the examination centers across the country. After the announcement of PM Narendra mode, that to abolish interviews from Group C and Group D government posts, the Staff Selection Commission has decided to make changes in the overall pattern of the examination and included a descriptive test along with the prevailed two tiers written examination for final selection.
SSC – CGL TIER I DESCRIPTION
This exam will be conducted online, tentatively from 2nd to 11th March 2020. The exam will comprise 4 sections with about 100 questions in total and with maximum marks of 200. The entire exam is needed to be completed in 60 minutes.
The sections asked in SSC CGL Tier-I Exam are:
· General Intelligence & Reasoning
· General Awareness
· Quantitative Aptitude
· English Comprehension
The penalty of the Wrong Answer: There is a negative marking of 0.50 Marks for each wrong answer. No point will be deducted if the question is left blank or not answered.
SSC – CGL TIER-II DESCRIPTION
SSC CGL Tier-2 will be conducted tentatively from 22nd June to 25th June 2020. The exam will be conducted online comprising of 4 sections with about 100 questions in each section and with maximum marks of 200.
The sections asked in SSC CGL Tier-I Exam are:
-Quantitative Ability
-Statistics
-General Studies (Finance & Economics)
-English Language & Comprehension
SSC – CGL TIER III DESCRIPTION
This paper will be a descriptive paper, which can be presented in English / Hindi. The total marks of the paper will sum up to 100. Students will be expected to complete the paper in 60 min.
SSC – CGL TIER-II DESCRIPTION
It is a Computer Skill Test. It will be conducted in two steps: DEST Test & CPT Test. DEST: Candidates are required to type 2000 words in 15 minutes on a computer in English. This test is conducted to check a candidate's writing skills.
CPT: This test is conducted to check a candidate's proficiency in Word Processing, Spreadsheets, and Generation of Slides.
DOS AND DON’T OF SSC CGL EXAM
The candidates must prepare themselves and gain adequate confidence in operating computers during the examination, as the SSC CGL 2020 examination would be conducted online from this year onwards
They should have a glance at the question before answering.
The candidates must keep the time factor in mind as they would get only 75 minutes to complete all the 100 questions at the Tier I examination. They should prepare before the examination keeping the time constraint in mind and segregate time for each of the subjects and plan accordingly
The candidates must not fear the new system of examination (computer-based) and must make sure that they have prior practice in such an interface before going for the examination.
