Arie Luyendyk Jr. and Burnham met while filming season 22 of “The Bachelor” in 2017. At the beginning of their relationship, Lauren made it to the final two of Arie’s seasons, which meant he visited her family in her hometown of Virginia Beach and the pair spent the night in the fantasy suite together. While the realtor told Lauren he loved her after a date in Peru, which filmed in November 2017. That’s how it all started between the two!
Arie Luyendyk Jr. is a Dutch-American auto racing driver and son of two-time Indianapolis 500 winner Arie Luyendyk. He has competed mostly in North America where his father lives and made his career. Lauren was a contestant on the 22nd season of The Bachelor.
She was the runner-up. However, Arie chose to end his engagement to original winner Becca in order to pursue a relationship with Lauren.
It’s been a while since Arie Luyendyk Jr. and Lauren Burnham welcomed their first child, Alessi Ren — but they still can’t get enough of her.
“The first few nights were obviously rough, but they are learning. It must have been really exciting. Luyendyk Jr. and Burnham welcomed their baby girl a few days ago and announced her arrival on social media, writing, “We have a BEAUTIFUL baby girl 6 lbs, 13 oz. 20cm long. Mommy and baby are doing great, we are so incredibly happy.”
After getting engaged on live TV, Arie and Lauren headed to Europe together. While they vowed to stay off social media amid the backlash of Arie’s breakup with Becca, the lovebirds couldn’t help but gush about one another during their vacation.
One week after delivering the couple’s daughter Alessi Ren, Burnham, 27, stepped out with her sister Heather to grab a bite to eat, without her newborn in tow.
“First time out of the house without Alessi and I only cried one time. I’d say it’s a win the former Bachelor contestant captioned a snap of herself and her sister Heather sharing a hug in front of a desert-themed wall mural.
Most comments were positive, supporting the new mom for going out, but others left feedback like, “I didn’t leave my kids until they were two” and similar remarks that were called out by the couple’s fans for being unnecessarily judgmental.
Luyendyk Jr. says the best part about being at his wife’s bedside while she gave birth was when he saw the baby’s “little head.”
“I had to keep it together because Lauren was still pushing and working to get her out. Hearing her first cry was very emotional for us. The first thing I noticed was that her nail beds are the same as my hands. A very emotional moment thinking this baby is obviously half of each of us. It’s just really special.”
They pulled her out and put her on my chest right away and that just took my breath away,” Burnham adds. “It was wild seeing her face for the first time.
