When non-surgical skin tightening treatments were first launched in the market, they faced several limitations. In the earlier days, treatments were ineffective because the waves could not penetrate deep into the tissue. NON-INVASIVE ULTRASOUND TREATMENT: ULTHERAPY SKIN LIFTING
Ultherapy Skin Lifting is the only FDA-approved non-invasive treatment for the purpose of skin lifting. It uses High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) to tighten and lift sagging skin on the brow, neck, and décolletage.
Ultherapy emits HIFU of up to 4.5mm deep into the skin to heat up the Superficial Muscular Aponeurotic System (SMAS). Ultherapy is an effective non-invasive skin lifting treatment because the ultrasound waves target the SMAS layer, which is the same layer that plastic surgeons work on when they perform a surgical facelift.
It works by delivering consistent heat of up to 70°C to stimulate collagen production in the deep layers of the skin. By doing so, the treatment encourages natural skin lifting effects through all of its layers naturally.
Because the treatment works by stimulating your own body to produce more collagen and elastin fibers, full results can only be seen after 2-3 months after the treatment.
Alternatively, there is also another skin lifting treatment that uses HIFU technology to lifting sagging skin.
NON-SURGICAL FACELIFT: SILHOUETTE SOFT THREAD LIFT
In the last few years, non-surgical facelift treatments have surged in popularity because of its visible results and convenience to undergo the treatment.
These threads used in non-surgical facelift treatments are absorbable and compatible with the human body. They are lined with barbs or anchors to lift sagging skin. For example, Silhouette Soft Thread Lift uses threads that are made of Polylactic Acid monofilament. It is a key material for surgical sutures drug delivery systems. On the other hand, PDO Thread Lift uses threads that are made of Polydioxanone.
Because of its short treatment time, thread lifts are commonly referred to as ‘lunchtime facelift’. You can be in and out of the doctor’s office in about 90 minutes – looking refresher and rejuvenated.
Non-surgical facelift treatments achieve two beneficial outcomes:
• Visibly lifting the skin to achieve a sharper, V-shaped face
• Stimulation of collagen and elastin fibers to restore lost volume and plump up the face
