I will explain why “feel the fear and do it anyway” cannot challenge this thing in your mind. Understanding fear and how it is formed is the first step to understanding how it got inside of you and how you unconsciously have accepted it to be inside of you.

The Fear

As a child you come into this world a blank slate. Every fear inside of you has been programmed into you by a collection of negative experiences, which serves to protect you from experiencing old unconscious pain inside of you. You might be asking, what unconscious experience would this fear be protecting? In your most vulnerable years, when you are vulnerable to being hypnotised by those around you and when you are primarily dependent on others to form your sense of self, then is where we form our unconscious projection into the world. Therefore the fear step of stepping up has been programmed into you as a way of keeping you safe from further hurt, harm and danger.

Underneath the fear and anxiety lies an unconscious memory, which if you had stepped up, the consequences would have been detrimental for you to handle. As a child the negative consequences of you stepping up, could have resulted in abuse, harm, hurt and further rejection, so as a way for your mind to keep you safe and cope with early stages of life, you unconsciously develop a fear of stepping up. The only problem with having this inside of you as a mature adult is that, you now have the ability to make healthy choices and the free will to choose better for yourself, therefore the fear that you developed as child when you were helpless no longer serves you. The issue is that most grown adults still allow it to reside inside of them as a protective strategy for survival, limiting their potentials, career opportunities and staying in unfulfilled relationships. To further reside in the unconscious barbed wire fence that thing has created, causes anxiety and nervousness every time you try to bypass and move into a new or more fulfilling life for yourself.

This fear stops business owners from fully stepping up to the potential of what could be, it stops individuals from going after a newer opportunity and further creates feeling of helplessness, depression and anxiety. Every time it threatens to re-trigger the unconscious pain stored inside of you, the critical voice is the gate keeper of this pain and actually speaks to you in a way that serves to keep you small. So yes, “feel the fear and do it anyway” can work although the resistance this thing generates causes you to miss out on a fullest expression of life, in which you have the power to create.
