It feel weak to admit this, doesn’t it? It feels like you are looking for excuses not to have fulfilled the dreams and visions you have for your life. You don’t want to be one of those that cry about their mummy not loving them or their daddy ignoring them and yet, it is true.
I admit it.
My parents did not love me the way I needed to be loved.
I hated them for it…
And now I am resigned to it…
Now, I see they did the best they knew how to do so I don’t hold a grudge any longer but as Papa mentioned to me today, i am still looking for validation and vindication from a parent who just does not know how to give me what I want or need. Yep, I said it.
Call me weak…
Label me whatever you want but it is still there.
The pain, the hurt…
The knowledge that the person who should have loved me the most, simply cannot…
I see on the one side that they did their best but I also know on this side that their best, left me broken.
But does that mean, I allow that to be the determinant of my life?
NO!
I see my pain, I face my darkness and I choose to go through the process of healing again and again until I am free from it and in the meantime, I keep my goals, my vision right before my eyes and I go after that too.
Action and clarity.

And honey, you can admit it to me. You feel broken inside you. Your parents did not love you. They may even still be alive and they still don’t love you the way you need to be loved. You see them and it just empties you out. Truth be told, it is easier not to see them but you feel too loyal for that. You want them to apologize, you want them to fight to get to really know you, you fucking WANT THEM TO CARE!
And they don’t.
They are all caught up in their own dramas – It has always been that way and you know that it probably will always be that way and there is a part of you absolutely petrified that this situation makes you unworthy of the big wins you dream about.
Because surely there must be something inherently wrong with you, if they could not love you. They chose to give birth to you and yet, they could not love you. You walk around with a badge of pain that no one can love you through, except maybe Spirit but even He has got to batter down that high tower you built around your heart.
And if you add some religious guilt to the mix, then you feel bad that you even feel the way you feel because you are SUPPOSED TO FORGIVE, right?! And you are SUPPOSED TO honour them, right?! And yet, the pain remains mixed in with the guilt, the shame that you are not even a good person!
That sense of abandonment, that feeling of being an orphan even though you may not be, it is hard to get rid of it. It is hard to just tell yourself that you can be, do, have anything you want. You are not completely sure you believe it and a lot of your lack of self-belief comes from here.
Your parents did not love you.
And ok, there are some that will use this as a reason not to try to win…
But you don’t.
You hurt and yet, you want more.
And so, you go for it all.
If you are reading this, I can tell you right now that it is not a thing of shame or guilt to admit where your parents failed you or more to the point, to admit that YOU DID NOT FEEL LOVED, DO NOT feel loved even now.
If you are reading this, it is because you are still standing, still choosing to win despite the pain…
However, ignoring the negative soul ties does not make them less real.
So get over any sense that it is weakness to have a weakness…
It is not.
It is weakness to wallow in it and refuse to take any responsibility for healing but that is not you. You are here reading this because you want to be healed.
And anyway, honey, you have accomplished a lot despite the deep pain, haven’t you?
Yes, none of it has made you feel vindicated yet but that is because you have an open, bleeding wound and none of the external things you desire will fix it.
It is time to begin releasing the pain…
