There has been an increase in skin cancer cases during the recent years – coming at a time when the use of sunscreen has also rocketed. Sunscreen is usually applied as a form of protection against the harmful rays of the sun – I never send my daughter for outdoor activities without sunscreen. Sunscreen benefits are many that can help you greatly.
As an individual, I was not really worried about the major use of sunscreen in our lives – until just a few years ago. I got curious and began researching more on sunscreen, and its production. Then I found out that most of our knowledge of sunscreen benefits isn’t correct – in fact, the companies care more about profit than our health and fitness(Bet you predicted that).
Research conducted on over a thousand different sunscreen brands had concluded that over 80% of sunscreen brands have compromised quality – selling products that don’t offer enough safety from the sun’s harmful rays. Some sunscreens even comprised of dodgy contents that are potentially harmful to humans. I also found out that the top sellers in the market had the worst results regarding customer safety.
Determined to reveal more information about sunscreen, I furthered my research – taking aim at the supposedly “chemical free” brands that are sold in most places.
I prefer not to mention the sunscreen brand names, but this here what my research yielded.
A particular brand of “chemical-free” sunscreen contained a chemical known as “Dimethicine.” This is normally thought of as safe for humans, but it is still hazardous to human skin. It is said that if applied to the skin, the chemical will cause irritations and could also give rise to tumors.
Another “chemical-free” sunscreen brand was found to have traces of “Aluminum Hydroxide” – also thought to be safe for humans. “Aluminum Hydroxide” is harmless when applied to the skin, but its effects are different when consumed – a harsh reality when dealing with some curious, small, children.
But, I recently found a sunscreen brand that doesn’t pose a threat to anyone who uses it and has many sunscreen benefits – the sunscreen is called Sunumbra, look it up. Although, I wouldn’t recommend tasting it – but it’s nice to see some companies doing the right job.
This begs the questions – why are these chemicals added to sunscreen? The answer is easy – it reduces the costs of sunscreen production. Cheaper products lead to higher sales and ultimately, higher profits.
Conclusion:
So, in conclusion, please be sure to research on the sunscreen brands and sunscreen benefits before purchasing any. You never know what’s in them. It’s best to take advice from a dermatologist before buying any sunscreen in the first place. I have discussed the required details. If you need more details, then you can simply search on Google for the best result.
