Two stories are the inspiration for today’s blessings. The first story comes from the UK. Robert the Bruce was fighting for the independence of Scotland against the English, but he lost a battle and was hiding in a cave. He was downtrodden and perhaps even contemplating that everything was hopeless. He was not alone in that cave. A spider was his companion and he watched with wonder as the spider spun his web. The spider tried many times to create his web but never gave up. If a spider never gives up, why should Robert the Bruce, so he resolved to fight again. Our spider was both patient and persistent.

SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST
The second story is about the hare and the tortoise. In a race to see who is the fastest, it should be a no brainer as to who would win hands down. But the hare did not play his cards right and slowly but surely with persistence, surprisingly the tortoise won. This story reminds me of a quote said to be by Confucius, that it does not matter how slowly you go, so long as you do not stop. Learn the power of patience coupled with persistence to experience greater success.
