Australian native, Robert Geneid is the current managing director of a large property development agency that owns and controls the Royal Mulu Resort. The resort is in the region of Sarawak in Malaysia.  Robert has committed himself to elevating Malaysia’s image as a major tourist destination. He has also devoted a great deal of time and effort into preservation as well as sustainable development in the Sarawak region most of all.

Robert Geneid is an extremely efficacious property developer, responsible for developing the Mulu Park, a large National Park located in the Sarawak area, and the Miri Marriot Resort and Spa. As well as development projects, he is a consultant and trustee for the Mulu National park. In 2000 Gunung Mulu, or Mulu Park, was officially named as a world heritage site. To this day, Robert has been working fervently to make sure the park is run to the highest of international standards, ensuring that the incredibly diverse heritage the park offers is preserved for countless future generations.

At the moment the Royal Mulu Resort is going through upgrades and is being changed into a Marriott Resort. As a result the Mulu Resort will be the first resort in the Marriott chain which is in a wilderness area. Its upgrade will bring a far higher profile for the very ecologically important Sarawak region. The upgrade is being advertised as the “Ultimate Borneo Rainforest Experience”. Built in the traditional style, the Mulu Resort offers a fantastic view of Melinau River and Mulu Park due to is unique location.

Robert Geneid has had ample opportunity, due to his occupation as property developer, to provide vital expertise and impart skills to the growing tourism industry that Malaysia is quickly developing. He has been called upon numerous times to consult for the diverse organisations and various groups that have been trying to promote Malaysia’s growing tourism industries.

Robert often makes use of his extensive knowledge and skills by working the people indigenous to the Sarawak area. He has been working to make sure these people have a viable future in development of the Sarawak region.  Robert’s construction company is responsible for some of Sarawak’s largest construction projects, and has won the bid for the construction of the New Kuching Port and the Kuching Outdoor Stadium. Robert is well versed in Law, construction and business; having over twenty years of experience in all three. Though his field of experience seems divergent and varied, Robert Geneid has degrees in both Law and Civil Engineering from the University of New South Wales in his home country.

After spending several years working in the Civil Engineering sector, Robert turned to Law and became partner at a premier Sydney law firm. His unique experience in construction, engineering and business law resulted in Robert forming a private development and consultancy business in Asia.
