Peggy Ann Serena Hemmer, MSW, LCSW, LISW-S prefers to be called "Serena". Serena received a Master of Social Work degree from The Ohio State University, graduated Summa cum Laude with a Bachelor of Social Work degree and Magna cum Laude from Columbus State Community College with a major in Mental Health/Chemical Dependency/Mental Retardation and a minor in Sport and Fitness Management.
She has experience as an outpatient therapist, specializing in services to children ages 4 and up, adults, couple's and families. Serena is certified in Rational Hypnotherapy through the National Association of Cognitive Behavioral Therapists and is trained in the Gottman Method for Couple's Therapy. She re-established an Expressive Arts Clinical Program in a Children's Residential Center in Worthington, Ohio where she provided creative counseling services to adolescents experiencing depression, anxiety disorder, bi-polar disorder, autism and developmental disabilities.
Serena brings her education, experience and intuition to her private practice and particularly her creativity, utilizing cognitive behavioral, solution focused and Gottman couple's therapies along with hypnotherapy, therapeutic play, sand play and expressive arts modalities.
