Born and raised in Port Elizabeth, South Africa – a long time ago!
Educated at Grey in Port Elizabeth
Became a resident of Benoni in 1973.
Very happily married for over 45 years and had four daughters who each had a brother – that’s 5 children. Have three grand children.
Worked for General Motors in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, in employee benefits which developed into my career until the end of 1996. Left GM in 1970 and emigrated to the old Transvaal, South Africa.
Ran my own business from January 1997 to November 2007 training people in the use of computers.
In latter half of 2008 gained accreditation as a business adviser with a view to helping SME’s thrive.
Before going on my own in 1997 worked for Murray & Roberts as Group Benefits Manager and was a director of Murray & Roberts H.O.Services (Pty) Ltd as well as a number of investment companies.
Served as a Trustee of the Mine Employees Pension Fund, the Civil Engineering Pension Fund, the Baptist Union Ministers Pension Fund and as the first Chairman of the Construction Industry Provident Fund. Was the first Principal Officer of Nedmed, the medical aid fund for the Nedbank Group and various other medical aid schemes.
Served two terms as President of the then East Rand Branch of the Chartered Institute of Secretaries and Administrators(C.I.S.).
Served as Chairman of the Wordsworth High School PTA for three terms.
Served as President of the Baptist Northern Association for one term.
