Living and traveling all over the world has helped to make me the person I am today. I thank my Father, a retired Air Force Officer, for always seeing that his family could go wherever he was stationed. I am forever in his debt. His thoughtfulness has made me a citizen of the world.
Over my 25 years as a fully commissioned Investment Executive, author, and Entrepreneur, I have successfully directed my personal energy and self-talk towards achieving personal and professional goals. What I have learned has been outlined in 4 published audio books. The topics cover golf, sales, and self-talk.
My current project, The Now Factor, is an audio book for new college students. It will be a catalyst for tapping into their deeper self and highest potential for reaching their career goals after graduation. No college bound student will want to be without it.
Waiting in the wings is an audio book detailing a three step process for facing and overcoming adversity.
There is a health crisis in the US. Its called obesity. I don't have to go into detail describing it because its all over the media. I believe the cure for obesity lies in two area. 1) Understanding that the majority of food you buy in restaurants, fast food chains, and supermarkets are laced with chemicals, sugars of every type, calories, sodium, and chemicals that make these foods last longer on the shelf. Your body does not know how to deal with these chemicals and additives. 2) These foods are cheap!
It doesn't take a rocket scientist, and you don't have to be a medical doctor, (although being a nutitionist would help) to realize that these foods aren't good for you. What does any of this have to do with self-talk? Self-talk is a driving force behind change in every area of your life. Its where you begin, once you become aware of the fact that you are slowly killing yourself with your diet.
Small changes can make a big difference. Dropping soft drinks is a great start. Say "I prefer to drink water" when you're thirsty. Then drop fatty fast foods! Make better choices or just stop frequenting them altogether. After a month, you won't even be able to stand the smell of being one. Say, "I can" instead of "I can't" or "I don't think I can do that." These statement just build walls that you have to climb in order to progress. These two changes will make an immediate difference in the way you feel. Use your mind to power you through the changes you want to make in your life. Just figure out what you want to change and ignite your drive to change with self-talk that fuels your intentions. You can do this!!! You can make the small changes that will add up to big differences in the way you look and feel.
