Matt Trostle got his start in the internet marketing and business world in 1999 when he started "playing around" with affiliate programs and domain names. From there he joined a network marketing company which was a major turning point in his life.
"It wasn't the company," he said, "it was the industry and everything it opened up for me." It was then that Matt was opened up to personal development, one of his most favorite subjects to study.
Matt continued learning all he could about internet marketing, web design and personal development and had various "hobby businesses" playing around seeing what worked and what didn't. With no capital, tons and tons of sweat equity went into developing his ideas. For him, learning marketing, search engine optimization, pay-per-click, HTML, CSS, Photoshop, was a necessity. But he always seemed to find it to be a lot of fun. "When you develop a passion for your work, it doesn't seem like work," Matt says.
Then, in 2005, Matt landed a job with a Internet Retailer Top 500 company. Here his internet marketing knowledge, especially SEO, really began to take shape. Attending conferences such as Search Engine Strategies and Internet Retailer, he became a true expert in his field.
In 2007, Matt did some consulting work for a marketing firm. Seeing how a firm operated, it prompted him to go on to start his own internet marketing and web design company. He loves internet marketing especially the way it evens the playing field for the little guys, but he's also very passionate about design. "I can't draw," Matt jokes, "but I've always loved to create. Graphic design has really been a great outlet for me!"

I love quotes! There's so much wisdom contained in just a sentence or two. Here are a few of my favorites.
Philosophy
"The unexamined life is not worth living."
- Socrates
"Employ your time in improving yourself by other men's writings, so that you shall gain easily what others have labored hard for."
- Socrates
"I am not an Athenian or a Greek, but a citizen of the world."
- Socrates
*Side note: Socrates was put to death for his beliefs. Accused of "atheism," Socrates chose not to worship "their gods" but was searching for a deeper meaning to life than a simple personification of the unknown.
May I challenge us all to look beyond race, color, creeds, dogmas, political affiliations, country, and even sports teams to see that I am you and you are me - we are all "citizens of the world." Believe what you will, but imagine for a moment the possibility of a different answer, if not for yourself but for the individual. Socrates, although the wisest man of his time, possibly of all time, said he knew only one thing, "I know nothing except the fact of my ignorance."

"All that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think we become."
- Buddha
"Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense."
- Buddha
"We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit."
- Aristotle
"It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop."
- Confucius
"Always aim at complete harmony of thought and word and deed. Always
aim at purifying your thoughts and everything will be well."

- Mahatma Gandhi
"An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind."
- Mahatma Gandhi
"Be the change you wish to see in the world."
- Mahatma Gandhi
"My belief is that the truth is a truth until you organize it, and then becomes a lie. I don't think that Jesus was teaching Christianity, Jesus was teaching kindness, love, concern, and peace. What I tell people is don't be Christian, be Christ like. Don't be Buddhist, be Buddha like."
- Dr. Wayne Dyer
"Religion is orthodoxy, rules and historical scriptures maintained by people over long periods of time. Generally people are raised to obey the customs and practices of that religion without question. These are customs and expectations from outside the person and do not fit my definition of spiritual."
- Dr. Wayne Dyer
Personal Development
"If you don't design your own life plan, chances are you'll fall into someone else's plan. And guess what they have planned for you? Not much."
- Jim Rohn
"Formal education will make you a living; self education will make you a fortune."
- Jim Rohn
"If what you are doing is not moving you towards your goals, then it's moving you away from your goals."
- Brian Tracy
"The only limits in our life are those we impose on ourselves."
- Bob Proctor
