Marie Johnson was born Shirley Marie Johnson, in Lake Charles LA. She was raised in Ida B. Wells Homes on Chicago's southside by her mother (a single parent) and attended Wendell Phillips Academy and later completed higher education via Roosevelt University(MS in Human Development), Northern Illinois University and MacMurray College( BS in Journalism).
She has four children (Tara Johnson, Gerron Johnson, Unious Johnson and Kelley Lynn Johnson). Marie is the proud grandmother of five: Katelyn, Kylee, Charon, Jerimiah and Jack.
In 1995 Marie founded and funded through personal resources; Compudyne Community Service-An Angel Mission of Chicago, Illinois, dedicated to assisting homeless and displaced families with resources to regain their lives and become active members of main stream America. http://compudynecommunityservice.webs.com
