I have been traveling through this lifetime for more than 5 decades now and have seen and done some interesting things... nothing earth shattering or worthy of the Nobel Prize, mind you, yet I like to think that my presence is helping to make the world a better place.The first part of my adult life and career orientation was in the graphic arts as a designer and creative director for many businesses, beginning with advertising and marketing firms, in the southeast, specifically the south and central Florida areas. I studied Visual Communications in Pittsburgh at the Art Institute, as Pittsburgh is where I was born and raised. About a year after my graduation I relocated to the Miami area and began life out on my own. Having family in the Miami area helped me adjust to this new and wondrous environment. In any case it was exciting times and I felt that I was on my way.Near the end of my seven years in Miami and while becoming familiar with many new forms of approaching Health and Healing... it was the seventies and lots of folks were into "Health Foods" and other forms of maintaining optimum health that wasn't, quite, considered main stream... I developed a condition that would prove to threaten my own health and cause me to focus, deeply, on how to resolve this situation. It took nearly 8 years of my life, and lots of exploring, including trusting my healthcare to more than 13 MDs who were unable to help me restore my health. In fact the situation became chronic and I was at my wit’s end, until I was fortunate enough to be introduced to a gifted healer who practiced Homeopathy. This is when my circumstances began to turn around. In fact the condition, which had become chronic and which showed no signs of improvement in over a six year period, began to show rapid signs of improvement and ultimately was completely reversed in under 9 months. This began the next phase of my learning only the emphasis was now on the Alternative or Complementary Health field... and lots of interesting stuff was in store for me!!Even though I continued to earn a living as a Designer, my enthusiasm was clearly placed on helping others in this more personal and caring way. The marketing business had revealed it's true self to me and I began to see that it was not in alignment with my truth. It took many years for me to come to this realization, after all, I had invested much of my life and education in this direction and it was an "acceptable" profession. So I finally, after 30 years as a designer, decided that it was time to do what I truly wanted to do and turned my focus to the study of anything and everything related to the Energetic Healing Arts.It seems to me that all the focus (through western medicine practices) is entirely on the biology of what we are as human beings and little to no understanding regarding the energetics of our existence. And, clearly, we are also energetic beings, as even the medicos have to acknowledge, but only near the ends of our lives when they hook folks up to EEG or EKG types of devices to see if there is still the presence of that elusive "spark" which animates all of the chemistry of what we are.So after twenty plus years of studying many types of what is considered "New Age/Complementary/Alternative" health care practices, including: the Silva Method, my tutelage with my Homeopathic Doctor, many forms of meditation including Raja Yoga, and Qigong, Tai Chi, Field Study, EFT, BSFF, The Sedona Method or the Releasing Technique, and many, many other disciplines, I have settled into a practice using a method called Quantum-Touch. I have found that the simpler a method, that is one which has removed many of the complex notions of the critical thinking mind, the more effective it is on the health of the body. Our body has an innate biological intelligence which leads us if we are astute enough to recognize it and follow its lead… and sometimes, even more importantly, get out of it’s way! After all if we didn't have this body intelligence we would likely bleed to death every time we cut ourselves. It is the same intelligence that knows how to digest our food, breath for us, and beat our hearts... and likely the entirety of involuntary task we perform without the need to concentrate… not to mention what is going on in every cell of our bodies down to and including the DNA and beyond.Well, that pretty much sums up my career life and the purpose for my bio, that and the fact that I am a certified Quantum-Touch Instructor and would like to gain more recognition and visibility for my work. We love to hike through the amazing Oregon geography and we are “mycofiles”... that is we belong to the Mycological Society and love to forage for the wild edible mushrooms which are so abundant in this area. We are also avid campers which is another way we appreciate the beauty of the Oregon environment.Now, as for my creative endeavors... since I shifted my career focus to the Healing Arts, my previous experience has not been forsaken. In fact, I have been able to utilize my many years of Design and Marketing experience to help me (and others of like minded pursuits) with new endeavors. Also, my youth was wonderful and afforded me many years of dance and music lessons along with art classes, outside of my art training as a designer. I have always embraced this part of my education and continue to expand and express through many means including Gourd Art Design, nature photography, videography and a more recent a collaboration which brings the traditional and not so traditional art forms together in a musical way. My friend who plays the Harp and Flute and I, who play the Singing Crystal Bowls, are working on a DVD and some CDs of our creations. The purpose of these musical creations is to help folks to relax and get in touch with those parts of themselves which can enhance healing and creativity. We call our collaboration, "Wings & Waves".
