About the Author
With Jean Sanders Torrey's nonfiction best selling tome Why Men Marry and Why Men Don't, she was a sought-after lecturer at the Learning Annex, just like Dr. Phil and Donald Trump, has made media appearances on Fox News as well as hundreds of radio talk shows. The author brings the same brand of pithy observations, sense of fun, and matter-of-fact truth-telling to her first foray into fiction with Best Friends Forever. A Kentucky native who lost her southern accent at Northwestern University but not her Southern graces, Torrey modeled through college and was discovered by Hugh Hefner who asked her to decorate his popular "After Dark" televised party shows and to appear in Playboy magazine travel pieces with the unique distinction of remaining fully clothed. Moving to Los Angeles, she was one of Nina Blanchard's top photography models. A natural athlete, Torrey was a professional equestrienne who taught many celebrities to ride and jump, including Brooke Shields, Farah Fawcett and Joanne Woodward. The success of Far West Farms in Calabassas, California led to an expansion to Far West Farms New York, the stable se up by Joanne and Paul Newman. Turning to writing, she became fashion editor for Movieline magazine and social columnist for Beverly Hills Today. She was also Saks Fifth Avenue's premiere personal shopper for an extensive celebrity clientele, including First Lady Betty Ford.
Best Friends Forever won the IRWIN for Best Campaign for Fiction awarded by the Book Publicist of Southern California. www.jeansanderstorreybooks.com
