Gillian Leithman holds an MSc from the John Molson School of Business and has conducted workshops and seminars for some of Canada's premiere business and organizations such as Bell Canada, Air Canada, the United Church of Canada, Investors Group, Combined Jewish Appeal, IMS, Federal Express and Novartis.
Her seminars have included: retirement series workshops, work-life balance, stress management, effective communication and change management.
Gillian is best known for her pre-retirement seminars, which focus on the psychological and social aspects of retirement planning to ensure a smooth and fulfilling transition. She also assist people with the emotional issues surrounding estate planning and the transfer of wealth.
She has conducted research for the past 10 years in the behavioral sciences in Canada and overseas. Her most current research focuses on the psychological and financial consequences of retirement and has been featured at the Canadian Psychological Association, the Ontario Gerontological Association and she has recently won the Best Paper Award from the Administrative Sciences Association of Canada (June 2006, Banff).
Gillian holds an honours undergraduate degree in Psychology and a Masters of Science Administration from the John Molson School of Business. She is also a Certified Retirement Coach.
Gillian continues to conduct research at Concordia University and currently teaches at the John Molson School of Business.
