David Medansky, born and raised in the Chicago metropolitan area, graduated from the University of Arizona School of Law in 1991. Medansky practiced family law in Phoenix, Arizona until 2004.
In July of 2016, David weighed 217 pounds. His doctor told him to lose weight or find another physician, because he didn't want David dying of a heart attack on his watch. Within five months, Medansky dropped 55 pounds and now weighs 162. His pants size went from a 38 to 32.
Being an author, he decided to write about his incredible weight loss journey to help others achieve their weight loss goals. His forth coming book Discover Your Thinner Self, A Motivational Guide to a Slimmer, Healthier You will be released in late 2017. It is different from other diet books because it delves into the emotional, psychological and mental aspects of weight loss. There are no special recipes or exercises presented. Along with solutions to weight issues, it has a Weight Loss Code of Honor and Weight Loss Declarations not found in any other weight loss book. Discover Your Thinner Self teaches individuals that struggle with weight various methods to change their relationship with food.
Medansky writes with passion and purpose about Las Vegas. His first novel, Flamingo’s Baby, is an adventure thriller set in 1968 about Valentina Benjamin, age twenty-one, a spunky, quick witted pragmatist turned protagonist, and employee at MGM Studios whose bloodline may also be her death sentence as she races to solve the mystery of her adoption upon learning that her biological parents are the mobster Benjamin “Bugsy” Siegel and his mistress, Virginia Hill.
Dark Money is his next novel, soon to be released.
