I have over thirty years professional experience focusing, mentoring, and motivating adults in their personal life transitions. I have forty years experience as a university professor and administrator. In the last five years, I committed my professional life specifically to life coaching, helping individuals with issues including building self-confidence and self-esteem, stress management, holistic wellness, career changes, retirement, and spiritual recovery.
My life has been a series of miraculous transitions, some difficult, some nearly effortless, but all rewarding in some way. And yet, my life is not all that unique from any other. Every person's life, if examined closely, is a series of miraculous transitions. The difference is how we view those transitions and how we are able to make the best of them. My mission as a life coach is to aid in this process; to build awareness, to identify priorities, to capitalize on strengths, to define and set exciting goals, to put together a plan of action, and to follow through to achievement of that goal. Nothing works better to build self-esteem and fulfillment.
Everyone’s lifeinvolves transitions. If we lookclosely, no matter how we may feel that day-after-day “sameness,” most of ourlives are in a constant state of change, and most of us are looking for ways toreduce stress. Whether fromchildhood to adulthood to parenthood, student to career to retirement, singleto married to divorced, dependent to independent to head of household, lonelyto loved to abandoned, young and fit to gray and ailing, or from North to South– East to West, we are all evolving and changing or transitioning in someway. Some transitions arenormal and anticipated, but some are unexpected and overwhelming. Some arejoyful. But some may cause sadness, anxiety, and stress. Some may seem easy butsome may be an exhausting challenge.
Good or bad, change is always stressful. And too much stressful change in a short period oftime can have significant negative consequences on our wellbeing.
When yourtransitions are unexpected, filled with anxiety, and exhausting, that’s when anobjective, centered, and experienced partner can be very helpful andsupportive.

Building Self-Esteem
One of the most common issues to deny individuals their fullest sense of happiness and joy in life is a lack of confidence and self-esteem. Once lost, many people feel a deep despair and hopelessness, fearing that they no longer have meaning or purpose or potential. Sometimes the lack of confidence and esteem is the result of traumatic life events. We might blame ourselves wondering, “Why me”? Sometimes significant persons in our lives – parents or siblings or teachers or spouses - through years of abusive discouragement and negative scripting have convinced us that we are not worthy or that we have nothing good to offer or that we are not capable or that we are not honorable. And unfortunately, we may perpetuate the myth, repeating to ourselves the same negative, self-deprecating messages. It can be a self-perpetuating downward spiral of self-imposed worthlessness. But it’s a myth exaggerated by fear and false weakness.
The good news is that there is a path to the confident, resourceful, and capable you. There is hope in finding your renewed self-worth. You have something to offer. You just have to rediscover it. You have value. You just have to redefine it and cultivate it. You are special and important. You just have to learn to believe in the real you. There is a chapter “How to Build Your Self Esteem” to be written into your personal manual. You and I will partner together to write that chapter.
How would you like to define the “New and Improved” you? What’s your dream? What’s your passion? What do you need to feel fully confident in yourself? What do you need to rebuild your self-esteem? How do you learn to love yourself again?

Managing Stress
Most of us have fallen into a competitive, hectic, and fast paced lifestyle trying to stay ahead of inflation, declining property values, declining wages, and employment uncertainty. A high percentage of households depend on double incomes while raising multiple dependents. Personal bankruptcy and mortgage foreclosures are at an all time high level.
Some of us simply have had the misfortune of stressful personal misfortune. Perhaps you’ve lost your job. Perhaps you’ve lost a spouse or a child. Maybe you suffer from repetitive fearful thoughts or anxiety dreams. Maybe you are in a persistent negative relationship or hostile work environment. Or maybe everyday you face a long, tedious, and stressful commute to and from your job.
Stress is one of the most pervasive problems contributing to stomach ulcers, insomnia, hypertension, reduced libido, impotence, diabetes, reduced immunity, fatigue, and depression. It is a serious malady, but it is most certainly not an impossible condition.[
There is hope. There is relief. There are proven strategies for the management of stress. There are successful techniques to reduce stress. There are solutions to eliminate stress.
As your life coach, I will partner with you to identify and prioritize the sources of your stress, and then put together a holistic strategy for the management and reduction of your stress toward a more healthy and peaceful lifestyle.
Our holistic strategies to reduce stress will include consideration of the following:
• Relaxation techniques and skills
• Dietary remedies
• Physical health, exercise, and fitness
• Balancing work and leisure time activities
• Personal finances, income, and budget
• Life changes and security issues
• Personal relationships and family issues
• Lifestyle pace and organization
• Thought patterns and attitudes
Your life is much too important to allow stress to rob you of the full enjoyment that you deserve. Do not allow stress to rob you of your health, your wellbeing, and your happiness. We will work together to pinpoint the most significant sources of your stress and put together an action plan to resist, reduce, or eliminate the stress that negatively impacts your wellbeing and sense of peace.
Holistic Wellness Coaching
Webster’s dictionary defines wellness as “the quality or state of being healthy, especially as the result of deliberate effort”.It also states, “an approach to health care that emphasizespreventing illness and prolonging life.” It is my belief that optimalwellness is holistic wellness. Wellnessfrom a holistic perspective goeswell beyond just the physical being. It must consider the wellbeing of thewhole person. If we view Webster’s definition from a holistic perspective, “the quality or state ofbeing healthy” would be inclusive of the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritualdimensions of being. Holistic coaching in its approach topreventing illness and prolonging life is amore complete process with consideration for the whole person.
Perhaps you want tofeel more physically healthy and vigorous.
