Rev. Cheryl Cotton Smith, is a native Washingtonian. Rev. Smith accepted Christ as Lord and Savior in 1974 and has been active in churches, as youth choir director, bible teacher and small group facilitator.

After acknowledging God’s calling, Rev. Smith preached her initial sermon in February 1997 and was licensed to preach the gospel in February of 1999 by Rev. Dr. Fernette Nichols of God’s Universal Kingdom Christian Church in Washington, DC. In May of 2002, Rev. Smith graduated from Washington Bible College with an Associate of Arts degree, in Biblical Studies. As a lifelong leaner Rev. Smith returned to school to complete her Associate of Arts degree in General Studies from Prince George's Community College, with an emphasis in Web Technology in 2009.

From 2001 through 2004 she served the family of Zion Church in Largo, MD, as group facilitator in their First Base - Discipleship Ministry, under the leadership of Senior Pastor Keith A. Battle. While a member of Zion Church, she also started the “And God Created Woman” women’s bible study, which facilitated building healthy relationships between women of faith, as well as, promoting and strengthening their faith in God.

Rev. Smith served as the Pastor of Education for Victory Fellowship Church International, in Capitol Heights, MD. While serving the family of Victory Fellowship Church Rev. Smith wrote her first book, Obedience Is Better Than Sacrifice.

Rev. Smith has been providing ministry services to the women of the Community for Creative Non-Violence shelter in Washington, D.C. since 2008. Rev. Smith's passion envolves creating teaching tools and ministry events that assist believers with their spiritual growth.

Rev. Smith was ordained May 1, 2011 by the Rev. Robert A. Clemetson of Redeeming Love Christian Fellowship Tabernacle, in Bowie, MD.

Rev. Smith has been a helpmate, to her husband Billy for more than 25 years and mother to their son, Delton and daughter, Danae. They reside in Bowie, MD
