First entered food service in 1965 as a volunteer while attending Summer camp and hired as kitchen staff the following two Summers. Worked in a number of different types of food-based businesses in Chicago and began cooking in 1970. Began pursuing interests in nutrition in 1971, Worked as head cook in the Conrad Hilton in '77 while deepening interests in nutrition and discovering organic foods which attracted me to living on an organic farm. Moved to California in '78 where I imagined my interests in alternative nutrition could be more readily pursued. Apprenticed with a living foods community and began teaching living foods in 1980. Began working as a private health chef in 1982. Also worked as private nurse aid till 1989 when back injuries made it obvious that work was not a match for me, Became the father of my Dutch daughter in 1984. Worked as chef for a fraternity at Northwestern University. Got Reiki training. Worked as chef at sorority house and another fraternity at SDSU. Discovered Biodynamics and went to Rudolf Steiner College in 1990 to meet others wanting to live in community on a Biodynamic farm. Became a sovereign. Took a long journey in search of community and landed in the "Gold Country". Met Sally Fallon in Autumn 1999 and prepared the first Sunday brunch for the Weston A. Price Foundation board members and their spouses. Returned to the Gold Country and became the initial chapter leader for a local chapter. Worked as a private Nourishing Traditions chef. Produced "Raw Milk: The Whole Truth" and just recently upgraded the DVD into a full-color photo-cover. Four video clips available at You Tube at the ChefJem33 channel.
