I have been happily married for over 25 years. I have raised two sons. I have been a homeschool mom for over 20 years. My older son went to school as a sophomore in high school. I homeschooled my younger son throughout high school. He was a dual-credit student who graduated from high school on his 17th birthday and from Texas State Technical College 8 days later with an Associate's Degree in Applied Sciences specializing in Robotics.
Both my husband and I have masters' degrees which we earned after we became married. We have supported each other through many career changes. My husband was instrumental in helping me become a published author and public speaker. I like to think I helped him discover his niche in the medical field as he advanced from EMT to Paramedic to ER Nurse, ICU Nurse and now Nurse Anesthetist.
I have grown and learned so much because of my sons. My older son, Joey, introduced me to the world of theater. Thanks to his interests, my family became very involved in our local, civic theater. I have been a stage manager, helped with props, acted on stage and been a parent wrangler. I also became a USA-certified Stroke and Turn judge when Joey became involved in swimming. Because of my younger son I was a robotics coach for 6 years. Both boys were involved in Boy Scouts and Tae Kwon Do, so I learned a great deal through their endeavors in those activities, as well.
Our family loves to travel. We have visited Italy, Greece, Germany, Canada, Mexico and Turkey. We went to the Mediterranean Sea to witness a total eclipse of the sun. It was an amazing experience. We particularly enjoy cruises and learning new languages.
I feel very blessed to have the family I do. I hope that some of my articles will help others to enjoy their families as much as I enjoy mine.
