Ever feel like you want to just bail, to leave everything behind and go elsewhere?
I sure do. I dream of going to Africa, where I’ve cried seeing elephant families roam and worked with warm, committed people to help their communities rise. I dream of going to Canada, to visit dear friends, to deeply hug them. I dream of going to the beach, to walk along the ephemeral waterline and relax into the ocean’s rhythmic roar.
Except there is no elsewhere. Everywhere is affected by the profound personal and societal change we are living right now.
What I’ve come to realize is that there is no elsewhere as a leader either. You are a leader now, in this situation, in this time.
So how do you deal with that, with all this change?
Ground yourself in place. Grow in your confidence. Focus on your impact.
You are made for these times.
You are here, now.
- How can I give myself ease and grace?
- What are the daily ways I can make my energy a priority?
- What can I do to make the world a better place for all of us, from right here?
You’ve had to deal with the unknown. Many times.
- You’ve had to pivot your business and shift your approach.
- You’ve faced discomfort and moved ahead anyway.
- You have changed. You have risen to the challenge, challenge after challenge.
You've been focused on impact.
- You've been doing the work of having impact.
- You already know what your values are.
- You’ve had clarity in your vision.
- You know how you want to contribute to making the world better for all of us.
You are willing to change and grow as a leader of that impact.
If you haven't done that work yet, or not as fully as you would like to, it's ok - you still can. Where you are right now is the place to start.
You are made for these times.
