We thought we'd have a little fun this week and brainstorm the top "wishes" our clients ask for, and what better time for a wish list, then The New Year. So here are our top eight business wishes:

1. Get more clients - always the top of everyone's wish list, after all, we're in business to make money, and we make money by working with our clients. Finding your clients means understanding them well first. Who are they? Where are they in their life right now? What are they thinking and feeling?

2. List building - every year, contacts on your list come and go. They may still be interested, but their contact information may change (which is why staying active on social media is so important; this way, you stay in touch on more than one channel). But consistently creating lead magnets, blogs, and conversational social media posts, you're more likely to build your list. Consistent, amazing content is key.

3. Define (and implement) a social media strategy - Social media doesn't just mean posting the odd promotional tweet, or picture of your coffee this morning. Social media is incredibly strategic and often starts with a well thought out content calendar that helps drive what you create and when. Creating a calendar is like a guide book for the year, remember to always keep your ideal client in mind, speaking directly to what they're feeling, and what they need from you, while still staying spontaneous and responding to others as much as you post.

4. Blog more - most businesses need to blog more. We've had many clients who love to write and consistently create incredible content. And we have others that struggle; this is where a ghostwriter comes in, creating content exclusively for your use, in a voice that sounds just like you. Curious to learn more, reach out anytime for tips for working with a ghostwriter.

5. Create a cohesive brand identity - Two concepts come into play here - one is really understanding your ideal client (or avatar), and the other is exceptional graphic design. These two elements can work brilliantly together creating a unique brand identity that resonates with your ideal client.

6. Generate more leads - who doesn't want more leads? Lead magnets are a great way to continuously feed your prospect list, with actual leads. It seems like a big task (after all, who has time to create something new!), but chances are you're sitting on great content. The trick is uncovering it.

7. Schedule time for business growth, not just service delivery. This is a must, otherwise from month to month, year to year, your business may grow in terms of clients, but not grow in terms of offerings. Take time to focus on where you're headed, not just where you are.

8. Grow my business with intention - know the clients I want to serve, and work only with those clients. What's on your business wish list? Are you hoping to launch a new program or service in 2020? Perhaps a rebrand is in your future? With careful planning, all of your wishes can come true!
