If you would love to have natural healing, less chronic pain, and a stronger immune system, Ozone Therapy in Salt Lake City could be the treatment for you. There is a team that provides ozone injections to decontaminate your body and improve your quality of life.

What is ozone therapy?

Ozone therapy is a process of putting ozone gas into the body to treat a wound or disease. Ozone gas is colorless and is made up of three oxygen atoms. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA), in 2019, stated that ozone is toxic and is not proven for medical applications.

Some research has shown that ozone can be used to treat some medical conditions raising the immune system. It can also be used to disinfect and treat a variety of diseases.

What does ozone therapy help treat?

Breathing disorders. People having breathing problems may be better candidates for ozone therapy, while more research is needed. By increasing the blood's oxygen amount, ozone therapy can help do away with the stress in the lungs. The lungs are the ones responsible for supplying oxygen in the blood.

Breathing in ozone can be irritating and may damage the lungs, mostly in people having respiratory diseases.

Diabetes. Ozone can be promising in reducing complication risks from diabetes. Complications are usually caused by oxidative stress in the body.  Ozone can correct the oxidative stress by activating the body’s antioxidant and immune systems and reduce inflammation.

According to research done in 2015, the ozone layer used in people with diabetic foot ulcers helped close the wound and reduce infection chances.

Immune disorders. Ozone therapy has benefits for people with immune problems because it tends to help stimulate immune systems. Research done in 2018 showed that ozone mixed with blood and injected into people having HIV significantly slows their viral load up to 2 years or more.

A lower viral load shows that less virus is present, which improves long-term health. The researchers noted that more research should be done on the use of ozone therapy in treating HIV.

What happens during the treatment?

There are three main forms of treatment in administering ozone.

Directly to tissue. When you undergo ozone therapy for a wound or extremity problem, the ozone gas is likely to be administered directly to the affected part's tissue. The gas is applied in a protective covering.

Intravenously. In treating internal disorders, like HIV, the ozone gas is normally dissolved in the blood that has been taken from you. The dissolved gas with the blood is then injected into you once again through IV. Intravenous use may carry the risk of embolism through the formation of air bubbles.

Intramuscularly. Ozone therapy is available as an intramuscular injection. In this injection, the ozone gas is mixed with oxygen before administration.

Ozone therapy is debatable, but it can show promise. Clinical trials for uses of ozone therapy are in the works. Researchers are exploring the effects of ozone therapy on the body to determine any therapeutic benefits. Anyone with questions about ozone therapy and perfect treatment should seek a doctor's help.
