In this modern day and age of technology a lot of relationships have a huge base in the social media part of life. For example Facebook lets everyone know if you are in a relationship. And obviously mobile phones are probably the most common form of communication now. People in a relationship will send each other texts or phone each other pretty much every day, and for some couples it means they can always be in touch even if they are in a long distance relationship.
When a relationship ends it doesn’t mean that the contact between the two people will stop, and often texts are a very easy way of communicating because it means that you don’t have to arrange a time to meet up and it is also easier emotionally for people. This is because if you have just split with someone that you still care greatly for it can be very hard to see them in person without breaking down, so texts enable people to talk without having to be upset in front of each other.
Texting can also be a great way to try and get back together with your ex boyfriend because it gives you the chance to say the things which you might not have the courage to say in person. Saying sorry in person can be very hard for some people, sometimes it is because they are too proud to say or other times because they are too shy to pluck up and admit that they were at fault or at least partly at fault anyway. However saying it by text is far easier because you can just type it out and then click send and you don’t have to feel yourself going red as you face the person you’re saying it too. This can be a great way to clear the way between you and your ex which is a good building block on your way to getting him back.
Another advantage of using text messages to have a delicate conversation is that it gives you time to think over what you are saying. If you are in person then you may end up just saying the first thing that comes into your head which is not always the best way to solve a problem between you and your ex. It also stops you from bursting out with anger or from being upset if your ex says something hurtful. When texting you have time to take a breath and properly word what you want to say.
Once you have used texts to get over the problems that you may have been having when you were a couple which caused you to split up in the first place, texting is then also useful when trying to rebuild relationships. It is amazing how much emotion can be shown during texts so it is still easy to tell how the other is feeling. When texting it is also very easy to become playful and flirting which is a great way to spark up some feelings between the two of you again because once you get the physical attraction back the deeper feelings will soon follow them to the surface. This means that soon enough your ex will realise how he still feels about you and then you will be able to get back together with him. Trying to be flirty in person can just become very awkward if there is still tension between the two of you so texting is a far safer and easier way to do it.
