What’s So Different about Astrology All of a Sudden?All of a sudden there are tweets and Face Book posts about how astrology has changed and how it affects our personal horoscopes. The dates are different and that moves people from one sign to another. How on earth is this going to affect us? An astronomer named Kunkle claims that the rotation of the earth and the sun has slowly changed the signs. It is supposed to have happened over the eons. All of a sudden,the dates are totally changed. The dates for the signs have changed and a new sign has been added. November 29 – December 17. That would now be Ophiuchus. What the heck is Ophiuchus and how did it get into the horoscope? Wait; does this mean there are actually 13 planets and not 12?

There is some talk that this “new” planet is just an old Hoax.
Ok. A new planet and a wobbly earth; 1 + 1 = confusion.

If the sun’s relationship to a particular planet at birth determines a person’s sign, can signs determined over 2,000 years ago be correct? If not, are the attributes that we have learned make up a certain sign been wrong, too? If you are a balanced, decisive and diplomatic person born on October 4 are you no longer a Libra and thus no longer possessed of those attributes? Is this just twisted astronomy/astrology?

Does this mean that every astrologer in the world has to relearn their craft? This, so-called, Galactic astrology is based on changes such as knowing that the Earth isn’t the center of the galaxy as previously thought.

Don’t despair! Here in the US your horoscope has probably been drawn under the Tropical Zodiac Astrology method. Therefore, nothing has changed. The Tropical Zodiac depends on seasons and is not the same as the Sidereal Zodiac which depends on the stars. The Sidereal Zodiac is the older of the two astrology methods.
At the time of the development of the Tropical Zodiac, the first day of spring arrived about 1 degree Aries. The Tropical Zodiac utilizes the position of the planets as they used to be.The Tropical Zodiac moves so slowly that it takes approximately 25,000 years to return to the original starting point. The Tropical Zodiac is mostly used by Western astrologers. Therefore, your horoscope signs remain the same and you are still an Aires, Aquarius or Libra just like you have always been.

Eastern astrology utilizes the Sidereal Zodiac and there is currently about a 24 degree difference in the position of planets in the two different methods.

The Tropical Zodiac is NOT the astrology of the tropics. The sun passes through the 12 constellations we use as planets. This method is the one that has been used by Western astrologers for thousands of years and it is oriented to the seasons and not to the stars. A lot of the definitions of the attributes of the signs come from the season attributed to it. This is an orderly system. The 12 signs are divided into the 4 elements: fire, air, water, earth. There aren’t any practicing astrologers that practice Sidereal astrology because they would have to relearn everything. They might not know why but they do know that it works and it has since the beginning.

So. Don’t worry about becoming another sign. Unless your astrologer is of Eastern descent, he or she won’t be using the new astrology.
