A beautiful, glowing complexion is something that most people desire, but there are so many products available on store shelves that it can be overwhelming when trying to choose the proper formulas. Cruelty skin care has become an important facet of the beauty industry for several reasons. Not only are the products respectful of animals, but the formulas are superior for your skin.

Early Adopters of Cruelty-Free Skin Care
The famous Estee Lauder beauty brand launched in 1946 with just four skin care products for purchase.

In fact, the EL brand was a pioneer by becoming one of the first cosmetics companies to eliminate animal testing as a method of determining cosmetic product safety. That was in the late 1980s, and today, many companies take pride in being a business that does not test their products on animals and does not ask others to test for them.

A number of excellent skin care companies do not perform animal testing. Some of these include Jennifer Bradley, Bliss, Derma E, E.L.F., Every Man Jack, Lush, Mario Badescu, St. Ives, The Ordinary and more.

What Testing Does to Animals
When animals are used to test skin care formulas, they're being used live, and these lab animals are forced to undergo something that they didn't choose. Unfortunately, these experiments can cause pain, suffering and even death.

According to Cruelty Free International, animals being tested for skin care products are often forced to inhale dangerous gases, surgical removal of certain organs, injections of substances that are harmful and undergo doses of radiation.

It's downright cruel, and yet, animal testing still goes on around the world.

Choosing A Healthier Alternative
For those who dream of a flawless complexion, a proper routine is essential, and cruelty skin care formulas are the right path to take in achieving healthy skin.

For example, cruelty free skincare online products are developed with purity in mind. These thoughtful formulas have not been blended with stuff often used to test on animals. That means that cruelty skin care avoids nasty chemical additives like sulfates, parabens and synthetic dyes.

Even sensitive and acne-prone complexions fare better with cruelty free products because these skin care types will not develop redness, irritation or allergic reactions to these cleaner formulas.

All creatures are beautiful and deserving of a normal, peaceful existence. That is why cruelty free skin care was established and continues to grow in popularity. A radiant, clear complexion can be attained without harming animals.
