Lower back pain is a persistent problem that occurs frequently for many of the older people. Ayurvedic practices for treatment are effective because they address the problem at its root. The problem is attributed to vata dosha. This is made of ether and air.

Cures for back pain -

Remain warm always

Among the many methods for curing back pain, warmth helps overcome vata dosha that is cold. Warmth induces better blood circulation that helps reduce the pain. This is one of the most important Ayurvedic treatments for Back Pain. It is also important to eat warm foods. Cold food will create congestion and cause pain to increase.

Use oil on your skin

The skin is the primary organ that needs care. It is exposed and when it becomes dry, it cracks and loses its elasticity. It conducts heat and if you keep it oiled, it will help improve circulation and help ease pains. Also, reduce intake of pungent spices. These spices will dry up your body. Dryness is a quality of vata dosha. You might experience constipation if dryness in your body increases.

Practice Padahastasana

This is a yoga pose where one stands upright and bends over to hold the feet. It helps to strengthen the back muscles and ease the nerves so you get relief from pain. If the pain increases, do not do this.

Make a tea out of Bishop’s weed seed

Called Ajwain seeds, this seed contains thymol that gives it the health-giving properties. Boil some ajwain seeds in water and drink this night and day. This will give you relief from your back pain.

Do alternate nostril breathing

The yoga practice of alternate nose breathing is helpful for correcting vata dosha. People suffering from arthritis and back pain will experience relief.
