True happiness comes from the inside; it’s a choice that you make.

Far too often I hear people say, “I’ll be happy when I get a new job or when I meet the person of my dreams,” the list goes on and on; however, there is one important element missing from these statements and expectations. Happiness is not a product or a person; it can’t be bought and sold, or traded. Some material possessions can bring some happiness but it’s not “true happiness” True happiness comes from the inside; it’s a choice that you make.

At any given time, you can choose to be happy and focus on all of the good that life has to offer or you can choose to focus on the negative, therefore spending each and every day never allowing yourself to be happy. Have you ever stopped to think that, the reason these things seem to be missing or are not appearing in your life is because you’re not allowing them too? By making the choice to be happy and grateful for all life sends your way, good and bad, you open the door and allow more happiness into your life. It’s really than simple.

So, how do I know this to be true? I made the choice to be happy with every aspect of life, the good and the bad. I made a choice to see the good in everything that happens, even the toughest situations, I stayed focused on the lesson there was to learn from these experiences, and that’s made all the difference. Starting today, make a conscious choice to be happy. Look for the good all in that surrounds you. You’ll be surprised at what you see. Start your day with an “Attitude of Gratitude,” and be thankful for all that you are and all that have, even if you don’t think it’s much. Thank your higher power each morning for a brand new day, a new start of unlimited possibilities and before you know it, you’ll begin to attract those very “things” that your see as missing in your life.

The choice is yours, what’s it going to be?
