Installing a cheap floor does not mean you have saved a lot especially if it takes a lot of time, money and effort to keep it in top shape. A costly flooring does not guarantee low upkeep either because even the flimsiest material can be costly if it is rare and in high demand. What does guarantee a low amount of maintenance are the attributes of the material and the overall design of the flooring. For example, a floor made of material that doesn’t absorb water is less likely to warp and discolor. You can either visit flooring stores in Denver to check which material is low upkeep or check out our list:

Laminate Flooring

Despite its low price, laminate floors are very durable and require less maintenance than most flooring options. It is even stronger than its costlier hardwood counterpart and can provide the same look depending on the manufacturer’s design. This strength comes from the high-density fibers used. It also has a wear-resistant layer which makes it very resistant to scratches but you may dent it if you aren’t careful when moving heavy objects. It can be cleaned easily with a dry mop and some cleaning chemicals. It can last so long that manufacturers often provide decades worth of warranties.

Vinyl Floorings

Available in plank, tile and sheet varieties, vinyl is preferred for its low cost and warm wooden or cold stone aesthetic despite the very low amount on its price tag. It comes covered in a protective layer that resists stains and spills making it very easy to clean and an extra layer to protect it from scratches. You may need to confirm it with the shop first. It can be cleaned easily by first brushing the dirt off and then mopping the floor with some water but avoid using too much water to prevent it from seeping into the glue and weakening it. You can also give it a polish once in a while to maintain its gloss if you want.

Ceramic Floor Tiles

Ceramic doesn’t just give the floor a stone-like look and touch at a much lower price, it is also just as durable if not more so and does not scratch or dent easily. Owing to its imperviousness to water which also makes it resistant to stains and spills making it ideal for kitchens and washrooms. It is simple to clean by sweeping, vacuuming, mopping and spot cleaning. If damaged, the tile can be replaced easily without disturbing the entire flooring. However, the grout lines are vulnerable to moisture and will need to be sealed.

Porcelain Tiles

Porcelain tiles come with the same benefits as their ceramic counterparts but are much better in all the categories and can be maintained with the same methods. Porcelain also absorbs heat and cold very well which means it won’t crack easily. Glazed porcelain is chip resistant and highly recommended. On the flip side, porcelain tiles come with most if not all the drawbacks of their ceramic counterparts as well.

Concrete Floor

Concrete is a very durable and strong material which is why it is also used as a building’s foundation. As a floor it is resistant to chipping, cracking and denting. However, it’s porous and needs to be sealed from time to time to avoid damages from liquids spilling over it. Sweeping or mopping it is enough to keep it clean. Heavy detergents can be used for the job if needed. If it is damaged, the spot can be easily refilled and polished without disturbing the entire flooring, making it as good as new.

Quartz Tiles

In the upper spectrum of cost, quartz is worth every penny invested. Its properties are so impressive that many people feel that it doesn’t need any maintenance. It is much stronger than natural stones like marble, limestone and even granite which makes it extremely resistant to scratches, dents and cracks. It is also non-porous which means it doesn’t absorb water, germs or stains and can be easily cleaned by washing and drying. Unlike most stone floors, it does not need to be sealed.

These are just some low maintenance options that you can find in flooring stores in Denver.
