How to be self-dependent in Career

To become self-dependent in your career means to start self- employment business. Whats better to have flexibility in your work and live a boss free life. I couldn’t stop myself to talk about the self-employment aspect when it comes to how to be self-dependent. Self-employment offers so much to you and you learn leadership skills while growing and achieving.

Tips to be self-reliant in business

1. Develop Your Mindset First

Yes, you read that right. Mindset plays a pivotal role to push you towards the pinnacle of your career. A right mindset can take you to heights while a poor mindset can make you feel helpless at any point in your life. Be aware of real-life tactics and start accepting what works for real. The difference between successful self-employed/self-dependent people and people who just wants to be self-employed is the right mindset. Having a mindset is not like preparing to climb Mount Everest. Just to be careful and a keen observation of what works in trend and what’s not is enough to let you decide the real process.

2. Take The Final Decision

This is the most difficult step to take. It requires courage to take the decision to be self-dependent. A huge fraction of people have a perception in their mind that it takes money to make money. It is the thinking of financially unsophisticated people. It doesn’t mean that they are not intelligent. It simply means that they haven’t learned the science of making money.
Science of making money, What does that mean?
It is common to have it as a doubt in your mind and it is not our fault.

This is because we are designed to think like that since childhood. Our schools and colleges never teach the science of making money. They only teach us via talks or lectures and prepare us for a job, not for real-life struggles.

But my question is; Does teaching mean talking or a lecture?

That’s how they teach you in school but that’s not how life teaches you.

And life is the best teacher of all. Most of the time life doesn’t talk to you. It just sort of pushes you around. Each push is as if life is saying,
Wake up. I have something better for you. Take it and step forward.

You just can’t feel it. You just accept whatever situations throw at you and include as many IFs and BUTs as you can. As a result, you just keep yourself stuck in the common process followed by everyone.

Education in school never gives the real taste of life. They never teach you to discover your passion. We learn through failures more than we learn through lectures. Learning the real tactics of life can make you start or even handle your self-employment business to be completely self-dependent.

3. Do Not Copy. Think of Your Own idea.
Robert Frost is my favourite poet. Although he has written many poems but this one is my favourite. Here goes the lines…..

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveller, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves, no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less travelled by,
And that has made all the difference.

And that has really made all the difference. It is the idea that makes you unique from the rest. Keep using your brain and start seeing what others miss. Do not hesitate or think too much to explore new ideas and find your passion. Every self-employed person has started with a small idea and then made it big.

4. Take Action And Be Consistent

After all, action is what that will make a self employment business – a BIG HIT!
We all have two great gifts- MIND and TIME. How you choose to use them is totally up to you. Your future will be determined by the choices you make today, not tomorrow. Actions are the plannings you need to do in order to start self-employment. Even if your idea is small, always THINK BIG.
