Being able to manage your online reputation means that you have to know an awful lot about the Google Search engine and how it works. Over the years, we have figured out many things with the Google Search engine and have found some really neat things that it can do. Most people think it is only capable of accepting a string of letters and then it returns, hopefully, something that is useful to you. This couldn’t be further from the case.

Since 1998, Google has helped settle bets among friends about who that celebrity was on that show you just watched, or what the most consumed food is in the country in which you live. 1.      Fill your schedule – Using your phone, you can simply search for “events near me]” or for a precise event type like “food festivals” and you will get the listings for local happenings from around the web. In a recent update, you also have the ability to browse events based on your interests. This means no more lonely Friday nights waiting to see what your friends are doing. You can make the plans and invite them to join you.

2.      Find movie showtimes and tickets: When you’re in the mood for a movie, you’re in the mood for a movie. Google can now supply you with movie showtimes, theater locations, and movie ratings all in one easy place. It makes it simpler than ever to decide which movie and what location will work best for you. As an added bonus, you can purchase your tickets at the same time and show them at the door.

3.      Recipe Search: You just got a call from your friend from out of town and they plan on dropping by for a visit. You have a limited number of things in your pantry and don’t know what to make.  Simply enter the ingredients into a Google search and add what to make with. You will be able to make more than you ever thought possible.

4.      Live sports scores: We get it, you are not always sitting in front of your television or computer. However, Google knows that people want to know scores even when they are nowhere near home. You can get scores by typing in the team name and the letters that make up the league they are in. This is additionally useful when the game is blacked out in your area.

5.      Shopping: You are far too busy to browse through the weekly circular. You just want to know if and where eggs are on sale this week. Drop the word eggs into a google search and you will learn all about eggs.  You didn’t want that either did you? Just shift your eyes slightly to the right and click on the tab that says “Shopping” and you are good to go.


Your online reputation should not be the only reason that you know the ins and outs of Google. Knowing all there is to know about Google will make your life a lot easier.
