History of World Photography Day
World Photography Day originates from the invention of ‘daguerreotype’. Which is a photographic process developed by Louis Daguerre. On 9 January, 1839 the French Academy of Science announced the process and after a few months on 19 August, 1839, the French Government gave the world a free gift ‘Photography’.

This day is celebrated so that people all over the world can express their feelings and themselves through the art of photography. The complete idea behind all of this is to encourage people wanting to undertake photography professionally or even as a hobby.
