"Just imagine how much you'd get done if you stopped actively sabotaging your own work. We must be talented, powerful and resilient creatures indeed given how much we manage to produce despite the constant undercutting, ridicule and needless censorship we aim at ourselves." Seth Godin

1. Poor Planning
Spending time mapping your goals out for an entire year is something most people think about, but never actually do. The first thing you will want to do to stop holding yourself back from the greater success you deserve and say you want is to create long term goals and break them down into short term goals. What are the smaller steps you need to take to make tangible steps toward your bigger goals?
Grab a friend or support partner and spend a half a day mapping out your vision. The people that do this are the ones who are serving their purpose in a greater way and trailblazing their path to success.

2. Your Definition of Success
You had better get clear now on what success means to you. The very definition of it comes from deep within your Soul! More than likely the authentic definitions will hold more meaning and be less tied to the material manifestations of things (although there is nothing wrong with that) An example could be: You make more than enough money and can freely give to the charities you believe in!
Another success to strive for are the rules to living the limitless life: Don’t compare! Life is about you being better than you were not about being better than someone else. Know that you are more than you do, this way “doing” won’t equal success and “being” or “non-doing”(which is just as important) won’t equal failure

3. Resistance
Resistance is an unwillingness to move forward toward that which you seek. It can also be an inner battle between what you do want and the action you need to take towards that. Being stuck or mentally deadlocked. Repeating the same problems over and over again. Not making progress toward what your greater vision is. You may feel heavy or bogged down. The goal is to be in an energy of expansion. Expansion is where you are in a higher vibration and will more easily manifest and be “in the flow” with life.

4. Mindset
Victim mentality is that life is happening to you and not for you. Going with the belief that we each create our own reality, then life really is all happening for us. Sometime it might not feel that great, but growth happens when you are pushed and get out of your comfort zone. You might not be as likely to voluntarily push yourself beyond your comfort zone and do the things that scare the crap out of you, but I can assure you, given no real life threat, those things that scare the crap out of you lie at the doorway to the quickest path to growth and expansion. Go on, I dare you, do it afraid.

5. Limiting Beliefs: Be aware of your inner chatter. What is most likely to hold you back? Listen to the excuses you use when you don’t want to do something or are afraid of doing it afraid or stretching into a deeper level of faith. Money is a renewable resource and many people cling on to it afraid there will never be enough (coming from a lack/scarcity mentality) A great mentor once told me to stand fierce in the belief that money is a renewable resource, because it is!! A great book to help you uncover your limiting beliefs is one by Dr. Wayne Dyer., Excuses Begone. He did a survey of the top excuses people that hold them back…I think you’ll find it quite interesting!

6. Priorities
What is most important to you? Suze Orman says, “people first, then money then things.” I also would like to put in there that putting yourself first is essential. No one else will step in and make your needs a priority except for you so you might as well get used to doing that now. When you are running a business, prioritizing self-care and fun activities that refuel your energy are crucial! This can take time to get in place so prioritizing this will help you step into more success at a faster rate.

7. Lack of Support
When left to do things on your own, you will hold yourself back each and every time from the bigger bolder things you are meant to accomplish. Get the right support systems in place for your greater good. Surround yourself with people who help you adhere to your highest vision on your path. Making the investment in yourself to be in a mastermind group or work one on one with coach is a very fast path to achievement. The loving support of the right group and the right mentor can make worlds of difference. What people accomplish with that kind of support would take nearly 5 years or more if they did it on their own. You are worthy of this kind of support and as a huge added bonus, your business will take off like a rocket ship!!

8. Clarity and Direction Equal Focus
Now that you’ve set your goals from step 1, you will have more clarity and focus. Breaking it down even further you could plan your week out ahead of time. What needs to get done and by when? Be clear about what direction you are headed and then mapping out the steps in order becomes that much easier. This way when you are working on a project you will know what to do when instead of sabotaging your time. Take a time journal of how you spend your time and log it for at least a week. Not only will you be surprised about how you spend your time, but you may also be shocked to see how long or short a particular task really takes when you time it and know for next time to plan better.

9. Not Being Specific
Know what you want and claim it! Most of the time when you are setting a goal for something to happen and it doesn’t, it is because you did not get specific enough. Being very specific about your goals and desires is extremely important. So get ready to get descriptive. You can even google describing words to help you if you get stuck. Use all of your senses to help you as well. What does your goal feel like, sound like, look like, how will you know it when it has happened?

10. Letting Go
What do you need to let go of to grow? Are you continuing to do tasks instead of delegating them so you can focus on your unique abilities and gifts?
Every business owner reaches a level where it is time to delegate. The challenge sometimes more often than not is being willing to let go of that particular task for fear that it won’t get done as well. This is an ongoing process so learning now is better than when you are juggling too many things and not much is getting done as effectively as it could. Perhaps there are some tasks that have been looming on the “to do” list. You would be surprised how much energy that can take up. Just knocking them off the list can really make a difference! See how much lighter you feel delegating tasks and clearing off the to do list! Ah, now go do something fun for yourself!
